meanwhile misty decks ...
@danieltsiu7383Ай бұрын
Toxic af, every deck requires a certain level of thinking. Meta decks are strong but there’s a reason the same players top tournaments.
@NikopterosАй бұрын
@@danieltsiu7383 Of course you have to think your moves regardless of your deck since you gotta get everything set up.... but you have to admit though, there isn't that much level of strategy when the match comes down to "congrats, your starter hand only had 1 basic pokemon and I play first, this is turn 1, if My misty procs 3 times I win, you haven't even gotten to play yet"
@rayc7914Ай бұрын
@@danieltsiu7383 If you think every comment implies the opposite is false and incorrect, every opinion that doesn't align with you will trigger you. one doesn't have to take "need you to think" as "other decks don't require thinking" - I gauge it's more like "some decks require more thinking than others". Plus, your point is based on tournament results, not skill floors. Take the rts card game Clash Royale for example - Surgical Goblin, Mohamed Light, Ryley etc, all either former World Champions or finalists, agree that giant graveyard decks and elixir golem decks are lower skill thus less thinking. The reason is giant graveyard requires you to only put down two cards in the right scenario with easy placement, and elixir golem wins by spamming troops in two lanes so the opponent can't defend both. You're correct in saying every deck requires a certain level of thinking, but it is unsurprising to me that this game, like any other tcg, has decks with lower skill floors thus less thinking, and if they happen to dominate the meta or tournaments it doesn't imply the skill required but simply balancing issues as no deck should dominate a meta. Think about this: if a player knows he's the best in the world, why does he still use a meta deck? It's not necessarily because the meta deck uses the most skill, but that the meta deck is the strongest deck, and if he uses a weaker deck he might lose to a weaker player with a meta deck - if results are determined by skill he would've won with any deck as he's the best. Every deck has their own fun to different people. The fun can come from winning, card visuals, interactions, whatever. If people are simply sharing what they like about something and not demeaning others' fun, they aren't toxic, don't you feel?

Pidgeot might be my favorite card in the game so far, he clicks so well with almost every team. Lately I've been running him as a lead to my Dragonite, the 70 damage and pivots lets me get the bench really low and then Dragonite comes in and just sweeps
@Jesse-lv2yoАй бұрын
I use Greninja in my Dragonite deck in a similar way. Chip away at benched or active pokemon with Gren's ability, keeping their HP below multiples of 50 to optimize those Draco Meteor KOs. It feels like it should be hard to set up, but works surprisingly well.

He's tried 2 or 3 Gengar decks on stream and they're always terrible, Gengar is just not good until we get more support unfortunately.
@notdesmondesmondАй бұрын
Honestly wish there was a ramp or something for Gengar. His ability is good early and mid game to deny misty and professor's research, but late game he's not bulky or painful enough to be a good sweeper. If his ability is active from the bench he'd be toxic, so maybe he'll get more support in the future that makes his late game more effective or a secondary attack that can shut down late game threats (think Mewtwo but 5 energy without eating up the energy etc) Or imagine a trainer card that makes Gengar and other Ghost types immune to damage for one turn. Gengar would be glorious.

The Pidgeot full art is one of my favs. I hope to get it eventually. I did recently pull my second copy of Pidgeot though so that's pretty awesome. I tested Pidgeot some in a deck alongside Articuno. I like it since you don't have to worry about having a Stage 1 and Stage 2 pokemon line, but of course you are weaker to Electric which is a big deal in this current meta, so this is definitely better overall. BUT it is possible that in a future meta, an Articuno or Zapdos based version of the Pidgeot deck is more viable. Either way, I love the design of Pidgeot and feel like it's going to be one of the best cards from this set when all is said and done. A year or two from now, Pidgeot could still be an incredibly flexible tool for a number of decks, as you noted, in a way that other cards just aren't.

I've been running with 2 Exeggutor EX + 2 Greninja + 2 erica + 2 potions. So far I've only lost 3 battles in 20 matches. Greninja will be at the backlines throwing water shuriken while exeggutor ex is at the front dealing a good amount of damage with a huge HP and low energy cost. You can run water + grass energy if you're feeling lucky or there are times you might want to swap out exeggutor for greninja. Or if you want you can only run Grass energy. The build is fun and no one can escape the water shurikens, and if you get sabrina'd, you don't have to worry since exeggutor can easily be set up since it's a single evolution. I hope I can get your thoughts on this.

2 Oaks, 2 Pokeballs, a featured evolution line to base the deck off of, find the weak points and add pokemon / items / supporters to counter those holes. Experiment, and if you find certain cards to be useless slots, swap them out for something you wish you had more of in those games.

Lotta cool pidgeot decks in the comments. Mine uses Articuno and Seadra. Arti tanks and deals decent damage but has a hard time really finishing pokemon, pidgeot helps spread the damage and then protects seadra in the late game who comes out to sweep the bench. Always feels like I'm drawing a good card with this deck and pidgeots consistancy really helps balance misty flops. 6 for pidgey 2 aricuno 1 horsea 2 seadra 2 misty 2 professor 2 xspeed 2 pokeball 1 sabrina just in case of a late pidgeot
