I use black Weathertech mats in my daily driver during Chicagoland winters. I simply clean them with a drill brush and 4:1 diluted orange citrus degreaser/APC from Meg's and 3D. Once they are clean, I protect them with the same Hybrid Solutions "Inside Job" protectant that I use on the seats and interior panels. Does a nice job of keeping them dark and rich. That "Inside Job" has become a favorite of mine. I have been using it to darken and richen engine bay plastics as well.

I like it alot also. Is it slippery when used on floor mats? P&S Dynamic Dressing works very well but is a bit slippery.

@@williambell7712 I haven't noticed the mats being any more slippery than normal. That is one of the reasons I like using the Inside Job on my seats. Doesn't make them slick.

I bought this a while ago it dosent really darken it is a good cleaner but I can use water down super clean much cheaper and now that gummie fix is out that helps alot

I just squirt some dish soap on the matts after rinsing and use big stiff bristle brush and scrub. Let the suds sit for a bit and then rinse off. Works just as good as any cleaner and is usually way cheaper.

Brian, thanks for the review. Depending on severity of the diritness? Most mats are cleaned with the car shampoo I am using. However, if mats are very dirty, I may soak them in a laundry tub with an APC cleaner (overnight). If mats are plastic, try a little bleach, but be careful, with the APC. After mats are cleaned, apply your favorite tire gel/conditioner, but be careful if the mats are more plastic than rubber. Let the sun bake into mats for a couple of hours, then wipe with dampen MF towel.

I’ve used the McKee’s and although it’s a very good cleaner of the mats for sure (One of the best), I don’t really think it rejuvenates/restores most mats I see. And it’s also costly. I usually use 3D super citrus APC in IK foamer and finish with gummifix. For really hammered rubber mats I use P&S Undressed neat In foam cannon (my tire cleaner always ready to go). In some instances I finish with Perl diluted in paint spray gun and wipe well to ensure not slick. Recently started using P&S Swift for not so bad mats. Quick pressure wash then drill brush with swift and wipe dry. Liking it a lot so far for interior maintenance details.

After cleaning the mats I find Koch Chemi gummifix does a better job restoring. The only drawback is the strong IPA smell. 👍✌️☮️

I got a golf cart 6 seater with rubber floors. I gummifix brought back the blackness of the rubber but washed off in the rain. Do you recommend this product or anything else for exterior nonslip use?

I’m not an expert on this type of use, but I might suggest looking into some of the marine (boat) products. The only thing that I could think of is Lithium trim cubes, but don’t know if it would be slippery or not. But being that it is for floor mats I don’t know how long that would last either.

@@bstewartexecutivecarcare3797 thanks for the reply I dont know why there isn't a product to dress rubber without making it slippery but always stand up to the elements. as golf carts are very popular at country clubs where they must be upkept well

Do a video of some mats that come out of a truck, where they actually have dirt and mud on them. That would be a better test than some that come out of a car that never leaves the pavement or concrete driveway.

Just tried the reduction yesterday and was not really that impressed with the results and to get the shine back had to use Serum Trim! Also product is expensive when it does not clean and better then soap and water

KCX Gummifix by a long shot. Weather Tech also has a cleaner and a seperate conditioner that is only so, so. The Mckees product was very disappointing for the exorbitant price. Truth be told, the first time you get into the vehicle after walking across the garage you will see dirty footprints on the mats. This goes for every product i have tried. Gummifix works better out of a spray bottle. Uses less product, and faster application. The mats will also clean up with just water or rinseless.
