I don't know much about recent Minelabs and the latest one I have is a GPX 4500 I bought when they first came out. However, these Chinese detectors look like total rip-offs of the Minelab design. Wouldn't touch a knock-off with a barge pole. I think Minelab created their own monster by putting big dollar prices on their machines. This gave the copy-cats incentive and the bonafide companies like Nokta reason to join the game.

Detector costs are way out of hand for what you get for the price, they making money heaps of it out of greed, thats my opinion , glad you can see what they are doing mate some Chinese stuff is not bad ie coils for fraction of cost o again thats my opinion

@@DetectorMods yes lot of difference in price i got a 17" x 13" for $90, i tested it against my others here and my mates nugget finder on targets down at different depths and different sizes and it worked great and on some bit better i am not electronically minded like you but like finding out how things work and testing stuff at home

If the Chinese are not prepared to give you one to test then they have no confidence in their detector. At close to $5k Aus it is half the price of a 7000 and for a Chinese model that is at the high end for a product. When you can get a second hand 4500 and have it modded to 7000 specs for a similar price their offering needs to perform.
