Caro-Kann is a defense against e4, not d4. You may be thinking of the Slav. Search Alex’s videos on the Slav and the “reversed London”.

This video it´s in the wrong play list. It´s in the Vienna Playlist, and all of the games are Sicilian Morra gambit. Not complaining about the content, mind you. I usually play the Alapin against the Sicilian, and now I have a second tool in the box

You can play the Smith-Morra even against GMs, but you have to study it well.
