Love them so much I have 4 of these🙄V12 6 speed manual Roadster, 2 x V12S manuals and GT8 manual. That V12 you drove has AMShift which if you turn on will do flat up shifts, just keep your accelerator foot to the floor 😝and will rev match on the way down. I’d go for that one👍🏻

Oh dear Lord what a thing of beauty. So many people diss Aston as a prestige brand but they 100% build some of THE most beautiful cars on the planet. Some say (some garage is the South East) they are unreliable and crap. They have been WEC champs in class for past many years. Let’s be frank here; if you own an Aston people will let you out from junctions but own other super car brands and you are something quite different. Let’s have another AM in the garage Tom please. I think this generation Vantage will hold a special place in history, especially with a V12 and a manual. The exhaust is sonorous, and is simply stunning whether burbling at idle or screaming during hard acceleration. If you get a V12 Vantage, it must be this generation, but I suspect it would be this very car. While I don't think you're afraid of colour, but there is something to be said about a subtle neutral with pops of colour. Looking forward to what your future holds for your Aston Martin slot and otherwise.

I have a big soft spot for this model vantage, it’s very pretty. Not a fan of the wing or kit on this, I think I’d prefer a standard v12, the piece jezza did on top gear with the V12 and was silent throughout the whole thing said it all for me ironically.

Hi Tom, I am a huge AM fanboy, and I do concur that the V12 Vantage you were driving is a special vehicle. The new Vantage however is a nicer looking car, with the only exception being the front lights (too small). The fact that you can’t get them in manual is sad. No one is better at filling the ear drums with a burly engine note, and the fit and finish is exquisite.

Seeing that you have already had that shape Vantage, maybe consider a 2017 Vanquish S instead? imo a more elegant and beautiful looking car which will also be smoother and more refined to drive. You'd still get the same naturally aspirated V12 experience.

I used to think it was good for the engine to let it sit and idle before moving off . I e since been told that it’s best to drive off right away and keep the revs down till it warms up . If you sit and idle while trying to warm it up it causes wear to the pistons as it washes the oil off them , or something like that
