Greatest might be a stretch, given that Hollow Realization and Fatal Bullet kind of set the a high bar for story. And I will agree with many that Fatal Bullet blew the gameplay aspect out of the water and is the best by far. Granted, this was made by Dimps, so I have some good hopes for it. And keep in mind, I've been playing SAO games since Re: Hollow Fragment. Alicization Lycoris was fun as well, and had a good story, as did Last Recollection, but of those two, Alicization Lycoris is the better game. And both fall short with regards to Hollow Realization and Fatal Bullet. There is a reason why I say that those two games set a high bar. From what I can see, and what I will find out next week when I play it (missed this beta due to other committments), this is looking to be fun regardless. And when it gets down to it, that's what we want, for a game to be fun and engaging.

Fatal Bullet was online as well. The campaign of Solo, but there was 1v1 boss raid battles with heroes, the BoB (battle of bullets), and co-op dungeon raids.

It was a popular novel series that got extra popular with its first 2 seasons of anime, followed by a movie. It's also had several games over the years as well, the best one arguably being 2018's SAO: Fatal Bullet. It also has a fairly popular mobile game SAO: Integral Factor that relies heavily on grinding, quests, and Gacha mechanics for Sword Skills and such.
