This is the HARDEST challenge in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

The Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Remake coming out, I wanted to beat the hardest Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Challenge that there is. ONLY 25 PEOPLE HAVE DONE IT!! The Prologue Pit of 100 Trials involves beating the games hardest built in challenge without having completed any of the game… You literally go in before you even fight Blooper, the first actual boss of the game.
also. any footage that looks like Mario isn't dying, it's because I had to do this challenge three times due to losing footage and footage being bad. my first attempt is linked below and it's the full thing. second attempt I did without upgraded goombrlla but then accidentally deleted footage trying to clean my computer. the third attempt is the one you are seeing, but I did not get every type of thing to happen, so I went back using the speedrunners tool to get any footage I missed. So don't think that I faked the challenge. I've done it legit. There's just some ✨KZbin Magic™✨ in this video.

The dragons’ bites are unguardable (and unsuperguardable too for that matter); just like Vivian and Marylin’s magic attacks. Uniquely though, the Shadow Queen’s Shade Hands can be guarded, but not superguarded. And aside from items enemies may randomly carry from time to time, Bulky Bob-omb & Bob-ulk explosions (in terms of non-boss enemies) can’t be countered or softened either…

Sadly, there is wallpaper blocking the entrance to the two rooms with the fast travel pipes (or something else I presume). Unless a clipping trick or a game event flag trick is discovered, there is not way to even enter the area now.

Good vid; liked the tutorial angle :) I know you had to put it in the title for YT, but for a full disclaimer to anyone curious, vanilla Prologue Pit is not the "hardest" early Pit challenge. That goes to Level 1 Prologue Pit, which only has 2 recorded completions in over 5 years of it being created LOL

Just curious, does jump storage have anything to do with the game thinking you're on the moon? I heard there's some bugs in the game might be a result of this (Chuggaaconroy's old TTYD lets play includes footage of koops randomly moon jumping during chapter 3, for example) great vid btw, subbed and looking forward to more content

I don't believe so. The explanation is my understanding of how it works. My actual more detailed guess is that the game is multiplying the 2 jumps together and it's causing some sort of overflow or something that causes the light when you give it some vertical momentum(such as walking up a step)

Hm.... something doesn't seem quite right about the video. Why did Mario's health stay at 60, even when he took hits? How did he get to move twice in a single turn, with a Goombella that hadn't unlocked Rally Wink, AND was unconscious? Did you use some cheats for the sake of getting footage of the enemies' movesets? Also, (though this might just be a change made in the Switch Remake) my experience with flower fuzzies would say that they ONLY target Mario. Don't ask me why, but I've never seen them attack my partner.

Yeah it was footage stuff. Did this run 3 times either because footage was bad or I just accidentally deleted it. Got tired of getting footage the real way when I didn't get everything I needed after my third successful run, so I went back and got some extra stuff. I have a full run in the description, the footage just looks awful cuz it was recording at 30fps Also yeah I generally see them hit Mario, but every now and then they just hate goombella a lot

We have not found a way to get there in the prologue yet sadly. Maybe someday, but the closest thing to this RN is the prehooktail pit, where you basically go do the pit as soon as you get the paper ability

seriously i dont know why people love to muc the ttyd seriously he have to many absurde thing in that game like to many dupe badge who make the game so easy the partener who have hp that little dumb in 64 our partener dont have hp and we alway be the one who get hit and can more easy block the att the super guard is really something stupide that the dev team have put can make 1 dmg to the enemie just for make a 360 turn level 99 with 99 badge more that 100 hp and flower in 64 is better since we never have dupe badge exept like the focus or the heart for 1 if we lucky 50 hp 50 flower and 30badge make to do the hardest choice since we only 30 badge and power need 7 same for the flower thing for safe 1 per att or money need 7 to with the lucky badge the paper mario 64 is praticly more harder and more fun to play not like the TTYD that u can equip multiple badge like pwer rush and alway stay with 5 hp kill everyone and many thing the story is bof can buy the ultra shroom or syrup that prety stupide in the 64 version we can get with pig about some color that why i never play the TTYD and yeah me to i alreayd do that shi* chalege seriously that game dosent have anything hard at all compatred to the 64 version TTYD is totaly 100% more easy to do and to the super guard is just so damn easy to do vs everyone after u catch the trick u can do without really take any dmg for the whole pit then yeah no chalege nothing fun many year ago i go praticly 95% of sucess with the super guard that be mega rare i miss it why to play the game for not get a chalege the game is insane boring still that bonetail dragon who praticly the hardest boss in the game since 200 hp 8 att for breath mane different 1 and all att is the same then so easy to dodge seriously that game is prety bad and i dont understand why he get a remake since is just easy at 18:28 for me i use tunder rage not because is hard but becasue is take to much time and a waste of time for nothing for me i by a lot of tunder rage some life shroom but not really much and super appeal is prety useless when u do stylish that give u more star power to and u can use other badge but still why what the point to use badge for 5 flower that just take it instead that dosent make sence beisde use badge then u flower

It IS possible to enter the pit of 100 trials DURING the prologue, but ONLY if you’re playing the original TTYD. Here what you do: have at least 1 empty file on the load screen. On one file, play until you beat the game. Then start a new game immediately after. You’ll get to start with all 4 curse abilities. This means, you can enter the pit of 100 trials before you’re supposed to get the first 2 curse abilities first. Just remember that if you save and return to the title screen anytime after starting a new game after beating the game on a different save file, you’ll lose the abilities unless you “officially” got them.

First, I already explain how to get in the pit. Second, I asked around the challenge running discord and no one said that this is actually a way to get into the pit. There is a way to do it by holding down R in the shadow queen boss battle to get into paper mode, but nothing about keeping every curse.
