Adam, a whole bunch of us at the office just sat down to watch this. This is one of the best reviews of our mics we've ever seen. Thank you SO much for your glowing praise of the SR117!!

I would love to try this mic and see how it performs with my bad voice projection due a surgery, I usually rise the mids in order to be heard, when you guys plan to release this mic?

Will there be changes to the icon pro? I have one currently (different account) but the background noise rejection would be helpful.

Holy cow, this mic is impressive for $199. What a great sound. Well done!

Earthworks makes great stuff. There's so little coverage of pro audio that this is the first I've heard of it, thanks for the video! A lot of live folks are using the SEV7 these days, beats an SM58 at $100. I'd love to go with the SR117 but as a touring engineer there are some rooms where any condenser could be a problem and I'd have to carry dynamics anyway.
@RufusKSala Жыл бұрын
Fun fact: they’re called Earthworks because the company was originally established to do business related to big earth moving trucks. Then they got into loud speaker design, then ultrafast RTA mics so that they could properly measure those speakers…
@DarkP1 Жыл бұрын
love the 4:3 video aspect, that mic rocks, condenser mic without picking every noisy and the sounding quality it's like shure $400 mic but no volume distortion if you don't speak directly to it, yeah I think you're right this mic is awesome.
@JoseOnTheAir Жыл бұрын
This is a beautiful sounding microphone. I think its great for voiceover or anything you through at it. I would be interested to see if they'd kept a capsule like this in a more studio style body. I think as I continue recording more on-site, I may have to test this with my kit to see how it stands in that use case aside from it clearly doing well in a stationary setup.

Sounds incredible, sadly it's closer to $400 here in Europe from Thomann than the $200 from Sweetwater in the US

a condenser mic with good handling noise and good off axis rejection... what more could anybody possibly ever want? sold. couldn't agree more, and probably best new mic in this entire category since forever times. maybe as far back as the shure sm57. or at least one of very short shortlist. sadly in the uk (and de) here it's still about 10x the price of an eq'd behringher xm8500. but then that is not a condenser mic. great review and thanks so much for suggesting this thing... and especially as it hasn't been picked up / covered enough elsewhere. i say that because it's also nice to look around more broadly for wider variety of testing samples. or comparisons on different voices, instruments. and this mic is still relatively new mic atm. just lovely review, and can't wait to hear more wider variety of samples. made my day actually
