Brilliant video! Thanks Mark! Something that I struggle with on and off. I am getting better at it though (I used to be the master of impulsive trades at one point in time). What I have figured is this. You not sticking to rules (assuming you have aa backtested strategy) boils down to two things: (a) You not having enough (or intense enough) negative experiences AND/OR (b) You not having enough (or intense enough) positive experiences when not sticking to your rules. Additionally, it makes it worse if you get the occasional positive experience when you didn't follow your rule. Chances are that you will break it again the next time. Sticking to your rules becomes second nature only when you finally internalize that doing so actually makes you money and not doing so loses it. Sticking to rules is a habit formed out of experiences. Your brain needs to rewire itself. This is why Mark's point about just brute-forcing through a set of 'n' trades without breaking rules is vital.

Thank you for that. Today I ignored a setup because it's been a losing streak for the past 2 weeks. The setup flew 2000 pips. I was stopped out trying to trade my emotions to add to my losing streak. As of next week I'm halving my position size to 0.5 till I break even and will go back to 1% upon being profitable. No more deviation from the strategy, I'll go back to set amd forget in order to enforce my compliance.

Thank you. This is exactly my problem. I backtest SOOOO MUCH and know it’s profitable but it’s so hard to just COMMIT to the strategy. It’s my discipline goodness but I have to commit if I want to be a consistently profitable trader. Thank you man seriously I’m going to work on it.

ok i have found the perfect trade tool (lol) It works great so far (9 out of 10) * RSI set at 2, sell above 95 buy below 5 I use it together with Stoch RSI 2,14,3,3 and ONLY on the daily.If the stoch RSI is below 5 buy (together with rsi at 5) Just look at it ;-) I also use hma9 for confirmation if it starts to bend i know it's good...

Friday was a nightmare for me on EURUSD. I didn't understand anything from patterns to indicators. At some point i just went gambling because i'm tired. Tried to cast my own patterns inside something globally wrong. I Saw short lasting signs which are lasting not long, i missed the global trend fading out from the double bottom of Nov 2nd... a real mess :-(. Feel totally depressed... my rule was to short on mfi on 15mn chart but that never occurs. lol. How to apply rules while most of the time you don't understand what's happening ? I decided to smooth some indicators to make them more readable, meanwhile.
