Tech Tip - when using hole saws on plastic it helps to start in reverse and switch to forward after you scored the plastic. Love the white and black combo on the new bikes!

Plastic...wood that you don't want to jack up...that was the 1st thing I wanted to say as i was cringing watching him drill those bags. I have drilled SO many shelves for electrical components in custom cabinets and when you slip with the hole saw it SUCKS! the bags came out good though👍

I just picked up a BMW R1250RT. My bike's speakers are living an easy life because they'll never see any use. I don't want to subject everyone to my musical tastes, lol. I'm really impressed by the sound quality from my Cardo PackTalk Edge as it is. I kinda like having my own personal vibe session.

I've got a '97 Wing and the sound sucks, even with better speakers wind and road noise make it just bad. My Cardo is great for music to the phone along with calls and built in FM, even with my hearing loss. I see -0- point in doing speakers and losing storage space but to each their own.

I just bought a cvo so it has the Rockford stage 2... There's no comparison of the Sinister sound system on my old bike. I'll be removing the Rockford asap and upgrading to Sinister sound!!! Best sounding system you'll ever hear!!

Nice upgrades there! The first thing I took off my 22 Street Glide was that dang seat strap. Did leave the attachment points to use later with helmet locks. Still thinking about installing bag guards; I have a full set of leather bag guard bags from my last Glide that I can't use until I do.

Ive had the same stereo upgrade for awhile on a 21 street glide an there is a lot to be said for that system it works well . I wanted to instal an use it an no tinkering on it as ive had aftermarket systems that way an it serves me well and doesnt work the charging system to death . Best of luck

One thing I picked up working at a boat shop that helps on fiberglass and plastic is run your holes saw backwards/reverse for a bit and the bring it home in forward.

If you have access to the back side, drill just enough to break the surface and then go around to the "display" side and drill it out. It prevents a lot of tearing around the edges of the holes. Also, tape off the area you plan to drill so debris doesn't scratch up the paint. Makes a world of difference in the quality of your holes. Don't be afraid to take the edge off with a little high grit sand paper, just take the sharp corner off, that will save some scratches while test fitting or just working inside of the hole. 🙂

That Rockford kit is overpriced for the quality. There are better speakers at the same price point. Those saddle bag speakers have a plastic cap covering the crappy magnet making it look bigger.

Jess you should’ve checked out Jay with volunteer audio they could’ve built you a system with Hertz Soundsystem that would sound a lot better than the factory amp and speakers and he offers plug-in play systems more reasonable than Harley Davison and sounds a lot better and he does have a solution for the new 2024 bikes

I hope you didn't waste your money on the Rockford Fosgate system from Harley. Voulenteer Audio dyno tested the output of the amp in this system and it only put out 9 watts per channel total

Never heard of the them, They only offer a kenwood dash speaker/amp upgrade currently. I’m sure it sounds fine, the Rockford kit has dual tweeters in each speaker and this has bag speakers too 🤷

I have been riding with Hardlys for 10 yrs. now and I find them very boring. The seating position is all wrong they are loud handle poorly unless you are going in a straight line and are heavy as heck. Why would you want speakers that the whole world must listen too when a phone loaded with your favorite tunes heard on a cardo that sounds way better at any speed. Never understood high rise handle bars. absolutely the worst thing for comfort and handling. I do know something of what I speak as I have been riding for over 60 yrs. My currant ride is a BMW R 1200 RT that I have put on over 186,000knms. Nuff said

I personally would not do the bag speakers. They are my #1 regret for buying a CVO SG. You can't hear them on the highway, they take up space, and you end up with the inconvenience of the electrical connections. I had the added bonus of them blowing several times.

I think speakers on a bike are just stupid, you ride for the the isolation and motor noise, Cardo headphones in the helmet are enough in my mind, because I can turn them off. I have been riding HD's for 45 years, none have had speakers, they are just stupid in my mind, equivalent to someone having a stereo unit on the train, blasting horrible music for everyone to hear.

I actually even agree a little but, I can turn my noise box off or turn it down… …but, I like the wind and the engine sound better than racket too. I love that noise box on my bike when I am working on it and when I want to hear a little gospel tunage on the road. Gospel tunes on the highway in the wind is a whole different life energy.
