Are these dongles worth it just for home stereos? Been doing a lot of research on which DAC to get and almost everything I read seems to focus on headphone use cases. But how about just hooking up my phone to my 5.1 home theater?
@arandomchannel16148 күн бұрын
I think with the price you’re better off with some pre-owned stand-alones that could perform way better Only exception is if you’re using some bookshelves for a small room, like I use my Kensei for my Mission Speakers

Wish you got the focus in for the peel, would’ve been delicious! But great vid 🙌 which earphone/headphone would you pair with this DAC, at minimum?
@arandomchannel16145 ай бұрын
yeah i was hella pissed and was not gonna redo it, sadge that my camera decided to bamboozle me In terms of which IEMs/headphones, I think if you're looking at anything in general it works quite well, any V-shaped that does not have too much treble emphasis Since this is a more analytical DAC hence IEMs that are more bright or "ACG" tuned are not gonna be too complementing with the M15, such as the Project M

Spot On! I had the M15 for around a year now and my experience to be the same as what you've mentioned. A little more separation & air would have been the icing on the cake.....but damn! it sounds Great, musical as hell, and I can listen to it for LONG periods. Worth auditioning if You can😇

I think its a good review. Covers a lot. Also brings in your subjective view. One thing I found missing was a mention if this would be good for certain iems or cans for example. Overall well done.

This is a awesome dac dongle. But with bigger headphones it sounds boring. Only IEMS! Thieaudio monarch mk3 with this dongle and dunu candy tips. This is the system you need! I swear. I tried every headphone range 500-5000€.

@@arandomchannel1614 I'm talking about an audio interfaces you plug speakers and a microphone into. I bring it up because many are considerably cheaper than this DAC and probably has a pretty good DAC's in em. You get mic pre amps and other inputs like for a record player as well. Can be found on the used market for under 100 but even new many are under 200. Many will have decent headphone amps and balance inputs in em to

@cxmxc I've had the q5k for a few years now. It has outlasted all other devices I had bought over the years. It's intimidating at first because it was built by a nerds. But wouldn't trade it for another except for the mojo 2 in which they say it gives you more control over the frequency response but that device is around 500 here in America

It confuses me as to why you think you're reviewing the DAC when all you're describing is the characteristics of the amp. A DAC has veeery little influence on how stuff sounds. Basically, any basic modern DAC is indistinguishable from another. A DACs finest job is to translate coordinates to sinewave as close to "true" as possible. We're talking within
