Today we're looking at this unique 1928 Harley Hillclimber - the only known of its type. Dale and Matt discovered this machine on the hit TV show "What's In The Barn?" and the bike is still a mystery today.
Dale's Wheels Through Time Museum, located in Maggie Valley, NC, features over 375 American motorcycles, unique cars, and transportation history.

I wake up before the kids in the morning to wake up, I put on wtt. Weird thinking Matt's voice is usually the first one I hear in the morning lmfao. I learn so much and love it all. Watching some of the videos over again. Can't wait to come visit on day.

Colorado always has nice bikes cars and trucks stashed away, the climate is good on the the old iron!and lots of barns on old property that no ones been on or in in 60 years. Great find

Yes, this would be the same "Floyd Clymer" who went on to publish "CYCLE" magazine... Floyd was an influential man not only in the motorcycle world but the car world too... 😮👍😎

The twist your finger on your cheek "reality" production was a joke though. Like the way Dale "found" the trap door and immediately went down. Not realistic at all. Sucked to see WTT pulled into the the contrived scene vanity. I like these here straight forward presentations much better. No producer. No writers. Just Matt and a bike. THANKS TO THE BTS CREW HERE.

I'm 37. I've wanted a knuck since I saw one at age four. Didn't even see another til the internet came along about a decade later and I started reading about harleys. never thought I'd say it but I'd read a knucklehead for either of both of those gems.

I really enjoy your channel... You are so knollagible , Back in the 60s we use to watch the Hell's Angels, and the POBOBS Race up motor cycle hill ,here in Bloomington California... The Hell's Angels started in Fontana , and the POBOBS started here in Bloomington..

It's great to learn the history of H/D thru the early 1900s. Could you please recount the history of the XR series? I am honored to own a 1984 H/D XR Sportster. I know that 36 years is a drop in the bucket as far as H/D is concerned but a lot of "New" H/D riders would like to hear it. Ride on Thru Time!

😁 that bike is simply gorgeous. imagine seeing her on the road back then obviously hauling butt on the streets, with a blink of a eye shed be gone passing model T's like they were sitting still.

i was there 2 years ago and i spent the whole time just on the bottom floor and i got to go back to take in the machines on the top floor. great place to go. i seen the bikes made for the desert in the second world war. machines i didn't know harley ever made.

That may be a shearling seat cover...I had one on my bike as a kid. They were unbelievably comfortable but took a long time to dry out if rained on.

I went to the hill climb on the Olympic Peninsula a few times, i saw a beautiful factory hill climb bike there, i think it was factory, seeing the open valve train covered in dirt, kind of an OMG moment lol

Wow She is a bute, everyone sees beauty in there own way and that is probably one of the coolest that this old vet has seen. That's my idea of perfection even under the dirt. I'm in Winterpark Colorado which makes this painful lol.

The 1937 WLDR has almost NONE of the 1939-* hot parts, including the stepped pin & rod set, cams, big port cylinders, aluminum heads, 4-bolt Linkert.

It's so weird to hear the word "chassis" used to describe the frame of a motorcycle. I just hear "frame" all the time, so using the word "chassis" feels somewhat exotic for a two-wheeler 😄. Apologies if this sounds stupid to some.

I understand that most all the engines there have the original pistons and rings, even if the engine was stuck. Gonna smoke. A new class of resto. WTT original running condition. Also. OD green is OLIVE DRAB, not stomach pump OVERDOSE green. Oh the stuff we were told by our older brothers when we were little.....

When you say alcohol carb do you mean a gas alcohol blend or like rubbing alcohol and for gas what grade I'm thinking original 1928 grade 78 octane plz explain this fact and could you show us these individual carbs I find it fascinating the construction of these I'm mean what were they thinking engeneeering wise to me its geniues.

Why would anyone set the shocks on the bottom with a modern Harley ? It was like riding a hard tail without springs on the seat . Man that was not cool when hitting a pothole .
