This is what you're struggling with the most: how to keep your "Red Line" (your non-showdown winnings) from plummeting constantly. In today's video, we look at the root problems of why people aren't crushing their opponents with bluffs: not orienting their entire approach and philosophy toward winning more without showdown.
Pre-flop adjustments, what to look for post-flop, and at the end, one of my favorite bluff sizings that many people overlook that prints money!

Auto-profit bluff formations is a super sick concept - the last bonus stat is pretty mind blowing how much it prints vs an overfold - I can see myself getting in a lot of trouble vs raises without understanding how to navigate that node

I found that in a lot of instances... Don't bluff idiots. When they have a pair, they call. The board could be 4 to a straight and a flush, and they still call down with 2nd pair.

One of the main reasons people struggle at lower and mid stakes is their preflop game as well. They call too often OOP as you pointed out, they dont defend the big blind correctly and definitely dont 3bet enough from the big blind either. They dont respect position enough and they are probably opening too few hands from good positions. Like the opening range from the button is super wide but I feel many players still make massive preflop mistakes, even high stakes players.

Nice video. About calling 3b OOP: what about if we play a 4b/fold strategy, then? Even from CO and SB. Then we cbet range 1/3 and auto profit.

if I call a 3bet OOP with a low suited connector this data says it's loosing -1.21 but isn't that still better than folding? (-2 or 2.5bb)
@AlvinTeachesPoker
@AlvinTeachesPoker 10 ай бұрын
No h2note compares it to folding at 0bb, not the same way hem calculates it. I had to check it multiple times to make sure it wasn't the case here but in hem they were losing 2.8bb compared to folding -2.2bb.

hey, alvin! first of all, thanks for all the great content! And what about calling 3bets IN position with pocket pairs and suited connectors? they're all mixed 0EV calls in GTO. But in reality, is it worth calling? is it better than folding? do you have that data? thanks 😊

OOP block bet bluff has been part of my strategy for quite a while. The funniest thing to me is when it ends up being a value bet and not a bluff. Also Check jam, is the one that makes me laugh the hardest. Check, opponent bets, jam, they usually call the all in as well, which makes it so much funnier.

Hey, Alvin! first of all, thanks for all the great content! You said that one should 3bet and steal more than the population. Let's assume that the population is currently using rfi GTOwizard, so as you said rfi co 29% rfi btn 42% minimum. On zoom, isn't it better to just narrow these ranges a bit so that you don't play hands that have an ev of 0.01 bb/100, but instead fold those hands and save time and additionally have the chance to play the next hand immediately with cards that have a much better ev? I mean have better bb per hour than bb per 100...
@AlvinTeachesPoker
@AlvinTeachesPoker 8 ай бұрын
That's assuming those hands are breakeven against tough opponents. If you have edge postflop all those neutral hands are at least +.3

I agree with your strategy while playing 6-max cash. However, while playing tourneys, it could be more profitable to flat some of your stronger starting hannds especially if a weaker player is opening (in the early stages), assumig it´s not a bounty tourney.

@@AlvinTeachesPoker Respectfully I do not believe I am. I agree - there is info today that people choose not to act on, but that will always be true. It has to be! There is information today that you choose not to act on - why? Because the marginal cost is higher than the marginal benefit. Some people care about winning a lot more than others, and they'll choose to study more, but we all have other things to do in life, and we all have to make trade-offs.
