I also noticed they’d make use of his passing abilities by sitting him up at the top of the key in a similar manner to jokic and then having him dime up cutters and poppers with the threat of his his driving or midrange shooting like some sort of passing center / wing hybrid. @@HoopVenue The dribble handoffs are great too because him rolling yo the basket is a really dangerous threat. It’s hard to stop him in man defense unless you have a very specific type of player that’s hard to come by, that being long, mobile wings like Jaden McDaniels, or a center who can come up to the level of a screen and handle shot creation in the paint like Gobert or AD (one of the reasons why Minnesota is a bad matchup for this OKC team)

Talent evaluation is still a unique skill. Paolo is terrific, and to the Magic was the safe choice, but Sam all along knew Chet was his man. So reminiscent of the 2007 draft when Oden was the safe pick and KD went second. Most GMs don’t want to look dumb so they go the easy route. MJP Jr. and this year Cam Whitmore.
