Only problem I see with the installation is, and I made the same mistake. It is installed too close to the wall. Right after I installed mine, I was changing axle seals on my neighbors Jeep and when I started pulling the axle , I barely got it out. You will find certain jobs are very tight. If I ever do it again, I will give myself at least an other foot. Other wise you'll love it. Sure makes work a lot easier on this old man.

One other person wrote this same thing but it is worth repeating, most videos of cars falling off the lift are caused when the weight comes off one or more of the lift arms . Then the arm swings out of the way and the car comes crashing down . That is why it is so important that the lift arms lock when the vehicle is raised… and if you use the appropriate lift point on the bottom of the car chances are you won’t have a problem

Most cars fall off lifts because they are either not asymmetrical lifts, the balance is set too far forward/rearward or a component is removed that acted as essentially a ballast (therefore upsetting the balance). These ARE asymmetrical (albeit semi-asymmetrical) as he stated such which is a very important detail. Also yes if you use a transmission jack or a dead man and you remove weight off an arm and it sways or shifts the load it certainly can bring it down. It's not that the arm swings out of the way, it"s the other 3 arms swing the car clear of the 4th arm completely upsetting the balance! Locking arms can help minimize the chances and/or save it, at least make it not so sudden or direct. Usually a car will teeter with locking arms HOWEVER the pads themselves rotate and that can still cause the car to shift and drop. Another reason is not putting the pads on a structural rail or rot being so bad it breaks through! (Southern states need not worry....... Must be nice!) Asymmetrical (including semi) lifts position the car rewards of centerline, but the structure of the arms and the diameter difference makes it so the weight is balanced on the carriage. The front arms having 2 sliding extensions that are smaller in diameter causes them to have more "flex" forward and with the rear having only 1 bigger diameter sliding extension makes it more rigid thus shifting weight to the front arms. If you back a vehicle with a front engine on you will still have the vehicle positioned the same, the engine it's not the reason you can offset the position. (I back in all diesel trucks on my lift and I still put a dead man under the hitch to help stabilize so if that's not saying something, I don't know what is!) Asymmetrical lifts have the posts angled reward making it easier to open the door (tenfold!) And semi-asymmetrical lifts the posts face each other as shown, still making it easier than symmetrical lifts (or at least a greater chance to be able to). All in all, cars fall off lifts because of stupidity! Unsure if it will stay removing something, strap the car to the lift arms! Little too much movement, use a dead man, no sense in becoming a dead man! Don't have 1 or 2 dead men? Get 'em! (They do a whole hell of a lot more than stabilizing the vehicle!)

I found you guys last year when I started welding school. I'm in my last semester now and just imagining myself one day to be working in a shop like yours. The progress at Lift Arc has been awesome to see, love the content- totally inspiring. Thanks guys! Grats on the beginning of a new era!

FYI make sure that the pins that lock the lift arms are working as they should be. WAYLON WIRE had his truck on his lift and the lock pins were not working and his truck fell off with a great deal of damage. Good luck.

Just got our first lift in our shop this fall. It’s a 4 post 12k dually/crewcab friendly) Advantage Lift. Gamechanger. Worth very penny. Always wanted a 2 post lift, but needed 12k for our 1 ton dumptrucks. I’m happy with it. Wish I got it a long time ago. First job…new fuel lines…new brake lines…new fuel tank straps. Try that on a creeper.

Without brushing and using compressed air to blow out those holes you run the risk of those anchors failing. Its like trying to glue to flour in that hole. I have seen so many anchors failures in my career.

Hey Tay & the gang! Canada sending yee all a big 👍. Love your shows. You are the principal reason I’ve gotten into welding. Took a Tig course last year in Montreal & got hooked. Now looking to buy my own …probably a green which you rated as the best bang for your buck. However up here the prices are almost double! Keep doing what yer doing!

Nice lift! That will be very nice to have in the shop. It would be a good project video to make some jack stands to use with it unless you already have some. They are kinda pricey so I don't know if you could build cheaper rather than buy...unless maybe VEVOR would send you some... corporate shilling. 🤣 See ya nerds!

I would Never put a car on that, where are the proper anchors, it only looks like epoxy is the only thing that is holding the thing up.
