Whahahaha. Those are the best purchases. Most often it’s the other way around. You buy something and it’s nothing you end up using in the end

Hi AK (Ajkay) A.K.A Anolog Kitchen :D , direct fan en Patreon lid (TheClaw). Thanks for all your insights! They are super helpful. My current setup is a digitakt, tr-s6, Subsequent37, Minilogue XD and Microfreak ... I'm really thinking about adding a DFAM too

You’ve got a killer setup already there! A dfam will defo take it next level, groove wise!

It is fun watching your rig change and evolve over time. My favorite techno setup is to improvise with a Digitakt running a few pre-selected drum kits (909/808/whatever), with a Mother32 and DFAM patched as a single voice running back into the Digitakt input for effects and compression. Its raw as hell, dirty, loud, and most important it is ABSURDLY fun. If I want anything more there's always another input ;)

Another amazing vid Lucien! I am not really a big Behringer fan but you could get this setup with an RD9, TD3 and Edge new for around €700 which is pretty insane. Of coarse no effects and you would need something to connect everything. You might be able to get by with connecting one of the synths to the return on the RD9 and use a 2 input interface to get into a daw or something. Or just buy a small cheap mixer. Bedroom raves galore!!

Absolutely! It's not the car, it's the driver. Just make sure how your gear handles itself! And you should be able to do what everyone else does convincingly and perfect that

Thanks for this, nice jam, great setup. One things I note, 909 is very hard to balance right with good leveling in a mix. BD is fat, SD is smashing ears, Toms are low ends and fighting the BD, RIM is ultra killer transient, CP is like a slap with reverb, CH is very buffy in low ends and can eat the OH, cymb is hard resonant, CC is CRASH. I like you mixed it quite in back ground and not in front of, as we often hear. 909 is like nitroglycerine 😬
@AnalogKitchen
@AnalogKitchen 11 ай бұрын
And then I’ve got mine recapped and freshly updated with eeprom v4 and a new power supply. I’ve got a KGB distortion on the kick that can do that ‘90s Hardcore’ kick thing. I know about the levels. Open hat loud as hell. Clap and rim loud as well. It’s so easy to lose balance. I just pace myself with what I send into the room
@RaffRobinson
@RaffRobinson 11 ай бұрын
@@AnalogKitchen I would really appreciate if you do a vid about this KGB. I like the subtle amount of saturation on the 909 BD. It’s come to life with it, transient more rounded, low ends no more boring/flat

No problem! Well, simply because I don't want to advocate a dawless setup whilst still being in a daw flow. I love my MPC but it's still somewhat of a DAW. And I want to be more live, improv and on the fly

Are you quantizing the dfam? Amazing instrument but I find it hard to tune well enough to play in tune with other synths .
@AnalogKitchen

Honestly, that’s what I love about it. It’s a hard synth to pitch but I needed something like it on my system… It forces me to think differently and tune stuff on the fly. It’s all more live and inprov

@AnalogKitchen wow lol it's all good , true music making is making music with what ever you got.. and making it sound awesome . This is what im figuring out every day by trading and buying stuff for the last few yrs.. I have an iridium a virus and a sp 16 , I like "808 state " I love there music especially ther old school stuff.. but I love so may other similar genres too. But definitely such a fun journey it's difficult which is why I love it more .. once I learn something too easy I got to move on to something else.. God bless keep u the awsome lessons 👍🙏

Hey AK, you had my head nodding right from the start of the video, so good to see some clips of your gig, sounding sooo gööd. I know what I like when it comes to Techno, this is someone who’s danced on top of the bass bins with Carl Cox just a few feet to my left spinning vinyl at Sankys (was up there for little while until security kindly told me to get down) was a few years ago, probably wouldn’t get away with it now… health & safety!!
