This is the incredible Viggo C8. A hand-built all-aluminium boat built in Sweden that, when fitted with a 500HP Mercury outboard motor, can reach an incredible 70 knots! Stay tuned for my review of the C10!

Now that you have piloted both the C8 and the C10 , in your opinion which is the most enjoyable over all? I believe this is the boat for me. Cheers!

I saw a review, probably on this same boat, about how tough it was and then someone said it was a glorified 'Metal Shark', but I think this is better

I would purchase the C10 in a few years (tsla) , absolutely love the boat but the fuel consumption is too dear. I'm really interested in the C8 now. I have an acre of waterfront property in Klawock AK and would launch in the Columbia River. Thanks for all of your great videos. 👍

A rugged leisure craft for daytime fun. How about powering this Viggio with a Mercury 600 hp outboard? Do you really need a generator for a 30 ft craft? Upgrade to a 35 ft C10 and twin 450 hp Mercurys. Targa 32 would be hard to beat.
@charley9986
@charley9986 Жыл бұрын
The 600 mercury is too heavy for the C8 as its a much bigger and heavier engine than the new 500r. Neither the C8 or the C10 have a generator. Targa compared to the C10 is more designed for accommodation as opposed to high performance, both are great boats for what they are designed for. The Targa will get you from A to B quickly, but the C10 will get you from A to Z quicker!

What’s the cover on the outboard for? Is it just to protect the paint? I’ve been seeing them more often.
@sib610

It’s just to protect the engine cowling from scratches and damage….theyre very expensive to replace !!

I think the units on the graph at approx minute 4, have been confused. I suspect the graph shows litres per mile not litres per minute as stated. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@@YachtBuoy That seems very good. My 23’ aluminum boat with a full 106 US gallon fuel tank gets at absolute best 2.5 mpg which is only .66 miles per liter.

It’s a fast commuter. It’s a fun boat for those who like driving boats fast...its a great driving machine. It’s an all year round coastal hopper. I have one and love it. Best built boat I’ve ever driven or owned.

Fast all season commuter boat or a family boat for heading down the coast…we have one and we use it for both purposes. We’ve often overnighted on her two up at anchor up a river when we didnt want to stay in a marina.

Not on this size Viggo although you can always fit a porta potty. The bigger C10 has a proper heads. We have a C8 and its never been an issue.

@sib610

It isn’t. It purely depends on how fast you’re driving it and of course the sea state. It is a very soft landing boat compared to most of this length / class. I have one and I’ve had other similar length boats that are much harsher as they’re not such a deep v. A big heavy boat will be more comfy but it’ll use more fuel, not be towable and prob not as fast. You dont have to drive it that fast of course. You can pootle along at 15 knots all day long. The sea was a lot rougher than it looked on camera with short steep tidal chop and they were going 40 plus knots so its bound to look uncomfortable but the prop was leaving the water regularly . As i said you dont need to drive it like that but its fun when you do ! 😊

All aluminium boats of this size are horrible in sea conditions. Sit so high in water they roll about too much when you walk round. On sunny days it curve sends suns ray onto you, baking you. Only good in cool cloudy countries. Goes fast with fancy music, that's all it has to offer.

welding work has been done poorly and unprofessionally , there are missed lines and spots , may crack open on the welding area's , materials are also not fine quality , poor design and too much aluminum used , not feeling safe to buy this boat , too much $ for this garbage boat !
