My suggestion is to build a small satellite town the city will eventually meet and annex. Builting it now a few tiles away will make it more realistically disjointed when the city sprawl reaches it. It'll also help with your low density demand and woukd be an excellent place to showcase the new UK pack assets.

i'm a mod guy, i honestly took about 4 months off when the game first came out and played other games because it was practically unplayable for me in my style upon release... still a long way to go, like to mentioned, industrial buildings are seriously lacking, was hoping we'd get some big, European style, warehouses and factories with the recent packs, but that did not come to pass

Since you asked for suggestions: I would really like to see the next tile to be the one between the highway stub and the river. (If you draw a line from the fluid tanks area in the port through the massive grain elevator and keep going beyond the current border.) This little triangle between the current housing estates, the river and the highway that is going to exist there is a neat little corner that would probably have the last fringes of urban development (townhouses, lowrises, maybe the odd corner market) - and then right across the river would be where the suburban hellscape (also known as car-sprawl-ia) begins, so only single family home or duplexes at the most plus centralized, non-walkable shops. Or at least that's how I think a US city _would_ look like in that location...

Yess i want to build out that tile too soo bad😌

Watching this from Baltimore, so happy we were (almost!) inspiration for today's build. We're an imperfect but proud and hopeful city. If you want future inspiration from the city, I recommend looking at Locust Point (a residential neighborhood surrounded by a loop of industrial rail track), Johns Hopkins University (surrounded by the dense Charles Village + Hampden and Wyman Park), or one of the many port areas like Curtis Bay or Canton.

Imperatur, as I watch you build amazing tile after tile, I sit here and thing, that would be an interesting way to do a 5 builders city project. That way, every builder would have to continue on adding to the next attached tile, with a two tile series before passing on to the next builder! Hope to see that in 2025! Keep up the great work!
@tigonologdring9189Ай бұрын
fantastic industry build as per usual fella! There is actually a ploppable rail extension to the cargo harbour now that means you can have actual operating rail yards for it that don't require running tracks to the waterside. Next? A suburb following on from the elevated metro maybe? Get some more population in....

I play it on GeForceNow so... no mods for me. I try to detail mostly with surfaces. We need fences and the ability to put decals anywere in vanilla, or reduce the hitbox of trees. In CS1 was possible to trick Steam Workshop on GFN and it was just another way of playing.

Have you considered doing your script reads with a friend or family member? If you're self conscious about your monotone specifically, its a very normal thing to slip into when reading at a computer screen. What can help is asking a familiar person to you to sit next to you, and you read the script to them. You take some short breaks to explain what it is you're about to speak about to your friend, so you therefor prime your brain on the vocabulary, and then you can get something closer to your normal speaking voice.

Yeah, the whole industrial zoning thing looks really weird. Obviously theres a lack of asset variety, but that seems an unsatisfying answer. I hypothesize its originally a game design issue: the iconic city skylines 4x4 or 6x6 zoning tile system works great for denser urban styles. But falls short aesthetically when going for commercial box stores, large industrial zones, or even farms (though cs2 does have an interesting take on farms. Not sure if i love it, but its 1,000,000x better than cs1) Having restrained zoning, detailing with parking lots and surfaces, or deliberately adding moded props and stuff add alot. But the zoning system doesnt accomate this very well for casual game, its not conducive or encourages this type of play. Having some sort of procedurally generated filler between these types of buildings could fix it. moveit and findit should be vanilla so that the detailers can go crazy. Alternatively having a larger zonable grid, but limiting residential sizes to 6x6 and keeping commercial/industrial to 12x12 or something might do the trick?
