Because of your channel I got our dryer venting fixed and now dries in one cycle!

Wow!!! That’s awesome!! May I ask how long your dryer was taking before the cleaning? ❤️

I just love your channel, I think it is because you truly do a very needed service in an area of the house not many consider a hazard, I myself now check for blockages and such, so THANK YOU!

Wet clogs are the WORST to have to deal with! Nice job, Steve! I remember one that took me 4 hours to clear it out. Thick, soaking wet lint that was like mud.

i remember something similar with the condo I once owned. the fresh air vent for the furnace was completely blocked by bird nests inside. Condo association would do nothing about it even though its the exterior of the building because the blockage was "inside" the structure. Had to go on ladder on our little 4x8 deck with a shop vac and suck the birds out (babies and all). Association wouldn't put a cover on it either for whatever magical reason they said it wasn't allowed. Ended up using a power supply van grill from a computer power supply and screwing into the front of the pipe to stop it happening again. I think years later the association actually had to shell out money to cover them all because so many people had issues where the heat wouldn't come on because the vent was blocked.

If the vent looking like that then the actual dryer in the inside needs to b checked out for cleaning as well, especially since that was a weak airflow still.

That situation was a disaster waiting to happen! YIKES!

My setup wouldn't work for most people but I have easy access behind my dryer and it's not pushed all the way back up against the wall...I have a second lint screen that catches any lint that escapes keeping it entirely out of the vent run for like 8 to 10 years now..I get back there and clean it about every 4 loads... It's kept the entire run clean.. but what blows my mind is how much lint escapes the dryer in just 4 loads... I vacuum the lint screen off and I'm thinking "wow, all of this would have ended up in the vent run" and this is just 4 loads! Back before I started doing this after my run was cleaned... I felt like in just 3 months I started noticing slightly increased dry times that would only get slowly worse from that point on... and the vent run is a solid 18 feet of rigid metal that looks perfectly fine, with only a couple of slight bends until it hits the roof cap....My clothes dry fast as they do if the dryer was going straight out an outside wall...It's slightly annoying to have to do this but it keeps my dry times consistent and not having to go through dealing with having to have it cleaned.... anyway...it's still so satifying to watch!

My new dryer has a warning light if it detects poor air flow. I guess I'll find out someday if it works.

That one was truly dramatic when the clog began to give way and then exploded. Yuckkkkk. I'm guessing their drying times must have hours long and still left the clothes damp. They were way overdue calling you in. Nice video!
@ytmadpoo28 күн бұрын
Odds are it was just venting into that laundry area with the break in the flex duct right there. The damp floor kind of gives that away. I wonder if they often wondered "why is there always lint everywhere in here?" :)

My vent is 3 ft long in the wall and every so often I have to blow it out because in the house it has a U then it’s shaped like a S in the wall… glad I’m renting or I would tare that wall apart.

How frequently should I disassemble the housing on my dryer to vacuum it out I do religiously clean the filter. My dryer vent run is only the width of the exterior wall.

After a bazillion years of lint issues, it seems to me manufacturers have gotten away with unacceptable engineering practices. Its been long obvious that they are responsible for engineering better control over lint collection. If we were going to start a ground roots movement of progress, it should start here.

Check out www.NIKRO.com! Please tell them you saw their product on my channel! I apologize for not answering your question sooner, I haven’t openly stated that yet as I’m hoping for a sponsorship deal with them… Maybe you and my channel fam can help me with that!!! Thx for watching!

Check out my website! www.almetaldryervent.com! It’s a rectangular vent that gets screwed to the wall/baseboard and the dryer simply backs into the vent! No more flex hose problems!

Is that a hose attached to the drill?
@waynearbour8109Ай бұрын
Why didn't you use a offset extendable square vent.
@advsLLCАй бұрын
Because of where the 220V outlet is located. I checked and there wasn’t enough “slack” in the electrical wire to relocate. Otherwise, I absolutely would’ve installed a periscope!
