In 6th grade I created a fantasy world in my head, and I would dream up new “episodes” every time I got the chance. Did that for 6 years, til I graduated high school. I didn’t want it to end, but the plot rounded out so perfectly that I knew it deserved to be put to rest. I miss it a lot. I’ve tried to go back and create more story, but it doesn’t feel the same. It was a magical experience that helped me process my emotions growing up, and I hope to someday get my day dreaming abilities back, maybe to create a new story,
@n0n53n532 жыл бұрын
I used to do the same thing for about the same time period. It really doesn't feel the same now. I also wish I still had that ability now to create more stories, but too many other things need my attention now and take up that space in my head.

@@n0n53n53 glad to hear from someone who’s gone through the same thing. I agree it’s hard to pull away from reality now that there’s more responsibilities to take care of. I’m doing my best to keep my creativity flowing at least, no matter what the outlet may be.

For the longest time, I did that. It was amazing. Everything was exactly how I wanted, I loved my characters, and I could do whatever I wanted. Gradually, I forgot about it. When I try to go back to revise it and restart it, it just isn’t the same and I can’t focus on it anymore. I do a similar thing with some different characters, but again; it’s not the same. Kinda sucks- wish I had been able to keep it going for a few years more :(

Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late-night study session, you won't wake up anyone🎧 • a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.☕ • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone, a few pens, paper, or whatever you need.⌨ •Anything else you could need, what about a heating pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐈 Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. I stole this from someone else but sadly forgot who I stole it from so I've decided to add some kind affirmations to hopefully help you

im not loved, my parents lowkey hate me to the point that they want to give away all of the custody over me. I lost all of my friends cause I was anti social, toxic, depressed asf, and i dont seem to be changing. i almost failed my grade with the lowest marks in class, and on top of that got addicted to the worst shit you could even imagine. Im not pretty, not even close to gorgeous and im not saying that to be a pick me or get attention, im honestly just a piece of shit that doesnt take care of herself because she cant bother to. The fact I havent showered in days makes me feel awful knowing i just cant do it anymore... Some would say that that's sick, and I would completely agree with them Being suicidal and hating yourself isn't going to change by just seeing some copypasta comment. I know you didn't have bad motives but the fact ive seen comments like these so much makes me angry sometimes. But then again, life may get better and some people see this as a sign to keep going... The fact that my life is shit doesnt mean somebody else's is.. Aaaaaaaand im just being pessimistic lmao

Maladaptive daydreaming has really helped me a lot. As much as I can remember I was 3rd/4th grade when I started daydreaming and this year, I'm graduating highschool (so almost 6/7 years of daydreaming). It helped so much to understand things. It helped me to understand love, deeply. It helped me to understand human's emotions, it has helped me with my depression, anxiety, almost everything. Sometimes, when reality hits, it hurts. But I remember, so far, this is the only way and only thing I could do to feel loved and needed. I thank God so much for letting me daydream and be with them. At least in this way, I felt loved. In this way, I felt like I was the brightest star. So I thank Him, even if it'll hurt.

Maladaptive means not providing adequate or appropriate adjustment to the environment or situation. Daydreaming by itself also indicates that person that daydreams have concentration difficulty (which is seen in people with mental illnesses like PTSD, anxiety and depression and so on). Lol I removed the latter half since everyone below seems serious abt the dreaming

@@_uwu_9992 but, I don't really want to admit this, what is it called? When I speak alone, mostly without sounds, I can't really put it to words, but I speak alone like they're there even though I never did touch, see, or hear them. I don't know, it become so natural for me to talk and even act like I'm touching them, I'm aware that they're not really there or let's say just being imaginative. What do you think it is? I'm sorry, I just can't clearly put it into words, but maybe if you saw me, you would understand at least? And it's probably gonna be embarrassing for me XD

@@Sophia-xk4mt I won't randomly diagnose you just based on what you said because I'm not a psychiatrist nor a psychologist. Out of curiosity, I did a bit of research and came to conclusion that you're probably experiencing hallucinations. Tho hallucinations is a symptom of psychotic disorder, you don't have to have the disorder to feel hallucinations. Just take what I said with a grain of salt and the best advice is to consult a professional to help you. If you don't want to book an appointment with a psychiatrist you can search for advice with professionals online.

@@Sophia-xk4mt Could you explain how your daydreaming works visually? Do you sometimes see your surroundings and then construct a new one to fit your daydream around you? Or imagine the characters with you in a real space, enough to at least roughly see them or imagine the texture of their fur/skin/etc.? Like you could run your hand down through the air, but imagine the sensation of feeling someone there. I'm no professional, I'm just curious

i think i have a daydreaming problem. i can create so many intricate stories that even when i try to write it or type it, i cant seem to come up with. when i create these stories its like my mind can play them out for hours before getting bored or running out of story, which then i create new stories. sometimes they are inspired by everyday life or shows/movies, sometimes even books. but sometimes they are just about what i wish i could be doing in my life instead of what i'm doing now. (if that makes sense.) i also feel like i can daydream anywhere at anytime, before i go to sleep, when i wake up, while eating, while trying to work on school LOL, using the bathroom, washing my face/brushing teeth, showering, in the car (passenger seat LMFAO), even in stores/school. its like i live multiple lifes. this playlist is comforting tho. if u read this, tysm!~ it felt good to type it all out :P

Daydreaming I always thought that the best way to get used to new things was to force yourself out there and just put yourself out of your comfort zone. I miss the feeling of safety now, the feeling of being able to curl your feet under a blanket and fold it under my body, the feeling of a routine, a place, an item, or a person to call home. A safe place. I used to run out on the green fields on warm day. I would climb up a tree and feel a fresh breeze hit my face. Up there, I would observe people below. Up there, in my safe place where no one could reach me. It all feels like a dream now. You’re no longer a free child and by nature’s way you’re no longer without a conscious responsibility to have accomplished something. To have fulfilled something by the end of the day. I miss the feeling of safety. Open areas, warm air, sitting next to a gentle river whilst poking my toes in it and being met by a gentle stream. Closing my eyes in a field of flowers or just lying on the floor in the living room enjoying the feeling of the sun’s warmth on my skin through the glass on quite weekend. As a child the world seems so unknown, so big and much to discover. There lies to feeling of safety in your own little bubble. Everything is socially related now. Everyone you meet is their own intelligent being. A whole other personality with a unique backstory. You will never understand them completely, but you must relate them. One sentence could change another’s view on you completely and forever. There’s no undo button. Society is built on and upon these people. To get through a day, you will have to build on these relationships, that is how the world evolves. Will there ever be a time again when you can go back? Back to a time where you just mind yourself for your own sake? For now, let it just be a dream. A daydream that is.

I've been surfing around this amazing comment section and see all kinds of people, but everyone is around dreams, dreams in themselves are such an amazing concept and reality, most I've seen are people making their own brand new dreams, story's of their own choosing, whether it be their own perfect story or just a perfect story for them to read, and I think its beautiful. Thinking of music like this as something that would only be played within dreams, whether just background ambiance, or during sincere, deep moments, or just casual chatting with that perfect character. I've never been one to dream about new things, but. I dream about what I wish i could do, be, or what i wanna become, whether sleeping or day dreaming, thinking about my someone, as I've said before In something i wrote a short time ago. My them. I think about what i could do and achieve with my them, and its just happiness, and seeing so many other people being able to make their own story's, their own dreams, separate lives in their heads, its just nothing but beautiful, knowing how much this world is in chaos, having got out of the heavy portion atleast so far of COVID and how its hurt and affected everyone, to this conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we still have dreams. No matter what, no matter how far down we are, we can dream, and certain dreams can become true, no longer just a bliss filled idea in our heads, the magesticness of it all is just amazing. Anyone that see's this, remember, whether you are stressing out about something like school, a job, or something that's happened or happening to you or someone close. It will get better, hang on tight, and don't give up, i have been down a real dark road. I promise you. Hang on, have hope no matter how little, and don't give in to that darkness manifesting in you, find your them, or whatever truly makes you happy and forget the world, pursue it, and never give in to that darkness that can dwell inside. You will and can find your happiness, if you can, take a few minutes, or even a hour or more, and sit. And dream. Let your own dream world thrive and grow, and create something beautiful you can cherish and not let go till you are ready, and yeah life does get hard, but you have to find your moments, the ones that truly matter and hold them, and make new ones. It wont be something quick or easy for most, but it gets better, don't compare yourself to others, look at your goal. Whether completing an assignment or getting a partner, go at it, you may slip and fall, but get back up, work at it, and you'll get it. You can make it. "No matter what your goal is, pursue and don't give in to defeat, in the end you will be rewarded with your own triumph"-A I hope whoever you are reading this, you can or have already achieved that dream. You are good enough. You are amazing. I hope to whomever the reader of this gives you atleast some form of hope, or just anything good. You'll get there, just trust me, and stay strong. -Aspen
