​​@@MagicSteel1 I mean sure we have ctrl-z now but the principles are pretty much the same for "frame by frame" animation. Draw a bunch of pictures over and over to get smooth motion. They used layers back in the day too - they're called cels, transparent paper that they painted on and then stacked on top of each other. Sure, physical media was alot more of a pain in the ass but the advent of digital isn't why animation is "worse" now, it's greedy board members wanting to maximize profit more and more and more until we got just 3 people doing whole shows lol

I eventually figured it out at some point by closing the door very very very slowly and noticing that there was a lil button inside that gets pushed by the door so i remember the first ever time noticing that button i had that "OHHHHHHH" moment and proceeded to play with the button while the door was also open confirming that it indeed controls the lights on/off switch
