@Jackery @VanCityVanLife Chrome is so right about Jackery. I live in Western North Carolina near Asheville wear the Hurricane hit hardest and thankfully because of watching this channel I had a small unit and solar panels as we were in a TOTAL blackout for weeks- no power, internet, cell service, gas raids washed out, no access to groceries , water or cash, water and this unit saved me and my dog. I am saving up for a bigger unit but so grateful for the small one I have 500 watt. I bought mine but so cool they sent units to the storm areas . Love and gratitude to all!

Would love to see him make a little space for Cruz like a good size portion of under the bed and seal it off from the actual garage. He can put like a doggy bed make it cozy a place for Cruz to go hide in or a go to place in the van

Important note: the reflective foil works as a radiant insulator ONLY if there's an air gap between it and any other material. When you stick other insulation right on top of it, the reflective foil does nothing as in that case we're talking about conductive heat transfer (transfer of heat through matter) and foil has almost zero conductive insulation value. When applied in that manner, the foil is just waisted material and weight.
@jdelso91623 сағат бұрын
I wish more of us knew this sooner. I didn’t find this out until about a year ago.
@iskosalminen22 сағат бұрын
@ it’s weird that van builders spend so much time researching insulation and somehow completely miss this… if you watch 100 van insulation videos on YT, 99 will get this somehow wrong.

I take advantage by watching your videos where you explain step by step, how to insulate and new ideas. When you are ready to put in the vent, please consider putting it in the back instead of the front. By installing it in the back, you'll pull air through the entire cabin, which will be huge when you're camping or run out of battery to run the AC.

Just a reminder to put some of that 3M insulation inside the frame of the walls and ceiling. You'll lose a lot of heat if you don't. I measured and cut the insulation and ran a wire fish through it and pulled the insulation back through. It saved a lot of time and aggravation trying to poke a screwdriver in there to pull the insulation.
@tommurray26532 күн бұрын
Hello Chrpme as you are attempting to do a super job on the insulation don,t forget to do a minimum of R5 on the floor . One inch of rigid extruded foam pink or blue and then put clik floor boards over top and you will have a reasonably warm floor. No insulation will reward you with a COLD floor. Have a nice day.
