Main gripes: The game routinely disrespects actual HOURS of gameplay, and deletes your saves without warning for the distinct purpose of forcing replay. Thowing is pretty dope (in general). What's worse is that there's a game mechanic called the Dragonsplague: it's a disease your pawn gets while fighting drakes or they can get it by spending time with an infected pawn, it worsens as time passes but what _matters_ is the final stage: by the time they have glowing red eyes if you rest at an inn, your pawn goes insane and kills everyone in the area. But it's completely inconsequential since after a few days everyone respawns making the mechanic completely pointless. To make things even worse is that the first major patch of the game does not addresses any performance of difficulty issues which the game desperately needs, it focuses *on adjusting the mechanic that doesn't have any gameplay impact whatsoever*

The funniest part is, once you unlock the thief's ability to pickpocket in combat - you can use it out of combat, too. You can just walk up to any npc, nudge them super aggressively, and steal whatever they had in their pockets, and they just don't care. Funnily enough, though, I had the opposite effect. I put the mask and fancy clothes on, took all my weapons, and gear off only to get beat down by the guards as soon as I walked in.

Judge Holden type beat. Ong when he started rambling about how no one cared about when he stabbed a nun in the streets and threw her to the worms just to turn around to absolutely no one batting an eye, it very much gave me the vibe on The Man's last conversation with Judge. If i remember correctly, he talks about the bears who dance and don't, it made me think that Sam was Judge in that moment only he was the only bear dancing on an empty floor. Gothic 1 featured NPCS who ran up to you, warned you, drew their weapon, and attacked you, if you entered their houses, touched their stuff, or stole their property. they would beat you down, take back their property and all of your money, and then refuse to speak with you further. if this happens with essential NPCs you usually could pay a broker to mend your reputation. but not everyone. if you killed someone from a faction, That entire faction would become hostile. its terrible that 23 years ago such simple reactivity still remains rarer than Hen's teeth. if the world doesn't care, why should we?

It's often said that in Kenshi, the world is completely indifferent to you; that's an inaccurate statement. In Kenshi if you fuck around, you will most assuredly find out. They will beat you within an inch of your life and sell you into slavery, for stealing an eggplant. In this game, you can do whatever you want and the entire world doesn't give a shit. You don't have to use exploits to get unfair advantages, like in Kenshi: all you get in this game are unfair advantages.

It doesn’t actually. The game doesn't seem to notice. You can grab a wife in front of her husband, throw her into a crowd of people and then throw her off a cliff, and the answer of the game will be. “Ouuuuuuuo🫠, what happened? I don't know. She’ll probably just appear next to her husband and no one will notice, everything’s fine.” It’s just stupid and breaks the immersion immediately. The game would be 100 times better if I could actually throw the annoying NPC off a cliff and thereby get rid of him forever, like in bg3. The game even shows an animation of him being eaten by worms in the water, so that he then appears behind me as if nothing had happened! What the hell is this???

Because there's no consequences. Play any decent rpg and you start going around killing towns folk, you get guards after you. You get bounties to pay off if you want your rep back. Some games actually have the merchants refuse to sell to you because of it. It feels like a lifeless world which is crazy cause they make such a big deal about the npcs having their own lives or whatever the studio bragged about, just to have it be completely pointless and just a cpu drain

@facundomontivero2299 when a game immediately kills the player, ends the game because you killed a friendly, or immediately made the entire game npc population hostile and invincible to the player, that's the extreme end. The game reacting to what you do within the systems of the game is fair because that's what it's for, so like the stars on gta or any game with a bounty system for crimes. The game not reacting to what you do and essentially making it pointless is not what you want if you enjoy a more chaotic or evil playstyle. So with this game, unless it's just bugged for him, it's part of the third group. For myself, why should I care if apparently no one except who is supposed to die can die? And those that can die are gonna be either scripted npcs or the enemies. That's kinda lame to me if you're offering this kind of world but making it limited what the player can do, especially right after baldurs gate 3 came out and costs 10 bucks less.

There is a pickpocket system but its locked behind leveling the theif, its horrendously broken too you can loot end game gear out of lesser dragons.
