I’m usually a silent watcher but.. the realness is so refreshing! It really pulls back the expectations I have for myself. Life is not a highlight reel and working on something is not aesthetic.

Thank you, mate. Genuinely. Every time i watch a video of yours it doesn't feel like a waste of time. I see what you do, see that you also make mistakes and worry quite a lot and it fills me up with determination. "Huh, turns out those content creators are people as well! They also have their problems, strengths and weaknesses! Maybe I'm not that worthless after all. Let me try and fake it, and maybe, just maybe, i will make it. Someday."

Thanks for the feedback, it's encouraging to hear! You got this, we all have our struggles we must triumph over. They make us better

That was so reassuring, thankyou! And to think I mix all that with the busyness and unpredictability of caring for a family ... I need to cut myself some slack and judge myself less harshly ... AND find ways to use the uninterrupted time I DO have more effectively (rather than just fall in an exhausted puddle).

Yes for sure! The strain of being responsible for others is not something to take lightly. That’s so important, we need that

The act of recall thing you mentioned is the foundation for the Charlotte Mason method of homeschool. She calls it narration and it's incredibly effective

Love it dude. Although I’d argue devotions are the most important part of the day. But that’s the pastor in me 😂

Agreed, getting your soul into a better place will naturally allow your earthly life to improve.

I tend to agree, but for some reason it doesn't feel important. It's weird I know. Thanks for the comment :)

You’re focusing on way too many activities that are bordering on hobbies. The podcast listening, reading a book in between sessions of whatever you do, and doing things you don’t want to do like learning Spanish. What is it you are really trying to do? If you want to pursue creative work, do that and drop these other areas. If you’re not having fun, you’re going to improve at a snail’s pace anyway.

@@mustafaokur or perhaps he could combine certain hobbies to make them more enjoyable, maybe listen to an audiobook in Spanish (make it a children's book so it uses simple language). Don't discourage people from bettering themselves, at least be constructive in your criticism Edit: actually I find that listening to music in your target language can be a really good use of your time because soon you'll be able to sing along (look up the lyrics of course) and through that repetition you'll build confidence. Also popular songs use relevant phrases and slang

I don’t always find them enjoyable, but I do find them valuable. I benefit from keeping those skills sharp and growing which I enjoy deeply. It’s worth it for me. Good advice on the music!
