I remember my application for Australia visa back in 70s. Took me 18 months and I decided to get permanent residency ( it was available then) as I did not want to have to come back to UK if I liked it. Luckily as a nurse from a London teaching hospital, I was in demand, I was also lucky enough to be offered a years work in Melbourne and the hospital paid my airfare, so I'm not even a ten pound pome 😆. I had a visa in my passport that said I could stay and work in Australia for as long as I liked, so long as I did not leave Australia for more than 2 years... that means if I went home and stayed there for 2 years my visa was null and void. I also had several interviews at Australia House on the strand that included a very interesting medical examination 🤔. Never regretted my decision. I wish we had had these helpful videos when I came over. Keep up the great work.

Great videos guys, glad you enjoyed the lifestyle after the big move. Now for Aussie citizenship, I (Aussie born) moved from Adelaide to Christchurch NZ 5 years ago and never looked back. My partner and I don't like heat and she wasn't moving to Oz so.... Was amazed at one comment (not sure which video) where someone said they chose NZ but it was unfriendly so moved to Oz. Nothing wrong with NZ, or Oz, you need to meet people halfway, takes time but it's worth it. Keep up the good work and the great life in Qld.

Hi guys, as usual, another great video! Empty promises-right away booked a holiday to Australia-that was funny, made me chuckle! I remember the jetlag from Canada to Australia was a bit brutal the first couple of days. The first day, my friend and I were in the shops and I said I have to buy such and such, walked over to that aisle, and when I got there I couldn't remember what I said I had to get, and so couldn't my friend. So back and forth to the different aisles quite a few times until everything that was needed was finally gotten. If anyone was watching, it must of looked a hilarious sight.(: The jetlag didn't affect my mood, it was the fatigue and memory retention. Kinda funny when you think about it.(: Coming back to Canada the jetlag was far worse, the exhaustion was sooo bad....Still worth going to Australia, though!!!!(: (: I so get you're not wanting to wait, when I'm ready to do something or go somewhere, I just want to do it and get there!

Hi.Maz and Ben, we're new to your videos and they're really helping us to weigh up our options in emigrating to Oz. Im interested to know how you chose the suburb that you live in? We're hoping to have a reccy later this year but looking at suburbs feels a bit obscure when you're not there to see and 'feel' what the area is like. Obviously were looking at schools, jobs, houses in our considerations but its such a big decision to decide where you're going to live before you even apply for visas etc (awaiting on my skills assessment) thanks for any advice you can offer and you're fab videos! All the best guys. Natalie x

Jet lag differs based on the direction of travel because it's generally easier to delay your internal clock than advance it. Jet lag does not occur on north-south flights that do not cross multiple time zones.
