The difference between Bo-Kataan and Din is made pretty clear in this episode. With Din, it's like he has the training of a soldier but isn't truly battle tested; at least not in a full scale war as far as the audience knows. He has the basic martial skill you might see in someone out of boot camp or a few years into service during peacetime. His time as a bounty hunter has seasoned him, but not in the same way Bo-Kataan was. Din tends to outsmart, outgun, or outlast his enemies because of his armor; but he struggles when dealing with someone physically stronger, more experienced, or catches him completely by surprise. Look at his matches with Ahsoka or later with Paz Vizla: Ahsoka pretty much schools him and holds him at bay until Din mentions Bo-Kataan and she sees Grogu; while Paz is able to brute force his way through Din's defense and temporarily take the Darksaber, Din is just able to outsmart him and reclaim it. Bo-Kataan, by comparison, is a warrior to her core, hardened by war, who was forced into the life of a rogue by outside circumstances. When Bo 's clan was in charge of Mandalore, she probably had access to the best of Mandalorian training options and it shows in how she fights. She takes advantage of every possible option her armor and training gives her; rarely lets someone get behind her, and is very rarely surprised. She seems to control a situation as much as she can while Din tends to let things happen and then react accordingly. The way Din handles things isn't necessarily wrong; but it leaves him more vulnerable.

@@caprisanh2845 Thank you! Honestly I didn't even start thinking about the differences between the two until I watched your video. At first I was annoyed at how much Din was being rescued in the episode; but looking at it based on what I posted, it's understandable... still a bit annoying, but it makes sense given what information we have.

Din was too weak in this episode, he had to be saved too many times

I'm a swordsman and I like Bo in this episode because the buckler shield and Saber use was I-33 fighting style in the historical context with Hollywood flair. Looking into the production team, some of the stunt team has worked with Nick Gillard and other legendary swordsman in the past.
@caprisanh2845 Жыл бұрын
That's awesome. Nick Gillard is a legend. So glad his influence is in this show.

I like the way Din uses the dark saber compared to how Bo uses it Bo wields it like an experienced swordswoman who’s used similar weapons and knows the technique behind using it, whereas Din swings it like me when I played Blade and Sorcery for the first time.

When bo katan talks about how her father died fighting to protect mandalore and din tells her this is the way and she just takes a moment. This was awesome because from day one she has mocked mando and his creed as a weird cult but now that she’s lost pretty much everything this little moment just hits because she in her own way understand the creed was in the end all about protecting manadalore so her and din are on the same page for once.

The difference between Bo and Mando in combat is big, but I feel the reason for him not controlling the dark saber as good as her is because he needed redemption in his mind before being able to wield it properly.

first of all, we like to point out things that we dont like cause this show is so good that we like to talk about even the parts we dont like, that said apart from what was being already told on the vid: - Mandalore it should have a surveliance post of the old empire controling who comes into the planet - Din got his ass beat twice: ok he not as great as Bo , but he was a succesfull bounty hunter for what it seems more than 20-25 years? he is alive, and on a single episode, if it wasnt for bo, he could die twice. . . come on, want to show that bo has greater skills than Mando, please do it with a little more sense. I dont say that i want mando having more skill, im happy that he is less skilled than the princess and rightfull ruler (when she get the saber) of mandalorians, just dont make him look like a fool for 30 mins.
@fearlessfreap8093 Жыл бұрын
Not what I've been waiting for. Season 3 so far is woefully inferior to Seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 Episode 2 is pathetic. Almost as pathetic overall as the ineffectiveness of the Mandalorians themselves. The look like bumbling Stormtroopers. There are so many plot elements that are just inconsistent and illogical. Just one example is the need for the IG assassin robot. So he gets the robot and is missing a part. Gotta find that part. He doesn't need an astromech droid and says so more than once yet he settles for one when the whole point of the first episode was to get IG working. Complete waste of the first episode. There are many other examples of silliness and illogic in episode 2. Too bad both episodes 1 and 2 fall terribly short of what they could have/should have been. The show isn't as bad as some but really?
@caprisanh2845 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you on Ep 1. I kinda trashed that one on my last video. 😅 Personally, what I was waiting for is more development with Mandalore culture and this episode started to give us some. It’s not prime Mando, but hey I’ll take it 🤷🏽♂️
