That first dogfight scene had me feeling like I was watching Top Gun if I'm being honest - absolutely loved it

to me, this episode felt like it was trying to be andor, but didnt even come close to the same level of quality. I wasnt capture by the acting and dialogue, I was just bored by it. The implications for the mandoverse as a whole are pretty sweet, but I wish they had found a more interesting way to develop those plot points. Side note you are really good at creating videos, keep it up!

After going through footage for this video, I remembered that Andor is in a completely different caliber of quality. I thought to myself, “Yeah Andor is still the best and for good reason.” Sure this episode is the closest we’ve gotten, but it’s still light years away. Also thank you for the support! 🙌🏽

While I wasn't a huge fan of the Coruscant subplot, it was amazing seeing those few familiar places from the prequels. It felt a bit misplaced, like the Mandalorian episode from Book of Boba Fett that heavily featured Luke and Grogu training. Had it been spread throughout the other episodes maybe it would feel more natural. That opening scene with the TIE Interceptors was amazing though! I want more of that! I think Rogue Squadron should be a series with numerous scenes like that dog fight scene.

I agree, really loved the pace of episode 3. The point you made about seeing more regular people struggling with regular things in the star wars universe. It is refreshing to see and hope they tell more of those stories in future projects.

I didn’t mind the episode and I loved how they showed the beauty of Coruscant but I feel like the directing team tried to hard to be Andor and they fell very flat

I totally agree with this. After editing this video, I realized that’s it’s not even close to Andor. Yeah it’s the closest thing we’ve gotten since it, but that’s like comparing a child’s best drawing to Van Gogh.

My crazy theory is that kane is still working for imps to figure out cloning technology that is sufficient to create a body for palpatine. I think pershings cloning is key to snoke's creation. I also think the mind flair was to wipe his mind so he would go through with palpatine cloning.
@caprisanh2845

Interesting theory. I definitely agree that we’re building up to a Snoke reveal. It would be pretty cool if they do it right

the subplot was a bit too predictable for me, i was calling every twist before it happened, and the writting was a bit meh, if there was a bit more back and forth between the two plots that would be cool.

I have absolutely no problem with the slower pace of this episode. I wish the writers wouldn't feel the need to shoehorn in 3-4 action scenes to each episode, so this is a good sign. HOWEVER. This sense you mentioned of 'I want this series to be going somewhere' is precisely the problem. Why? Because the entire Pershing plotline is to set up Palpatine's clone. Which is one of the lamest and laziest parts of the sequels. And Mando? Well he gave up Grogu for all of 5 minutes, reversing his development in season 2. Why? Because the writers don't know what else to do with him, and because they need grogu to sell plushies.
@caprisanh2845
@caprisanh2845 Жыл бұрын
Yeah man, I still wish Grogu just stayed with Luke. It would have made for a more interesting story than what we have now. At least Coruscant was cool tho

I'd love to see an anthology series for Star Wars, full of the little characters who stayed with us. But we all know it would become a cameo filled, cancelled after two seasons for not being a merchandising opportunity thing that would just mess the lore up. So....nevermind.

I didn't care for the Pershing subplot. It brought the story to a dead halt, I had zero emotional investment in either character, with a the final snub of "Oop, now he's effectively dead. Lol guess we wholesale wasted your time, huh?" I can't even remember her name despite spending what felt like an hour with her, or anything about her other than she's the galaxy's least efficient hitman and the fact no one noticed she killed him because they just pissed off and left in the middle of a sensitive medical procedure feels insultingly dumb. Aaand then back to a real story.

While episode 3 was pretty decent I feel they could have either cut down on the coruscant segment or made it more interesting by clearly tieing into the main "plot" of the Mando story because it just feels jarring to go from high-octane ship fight to a slow-paced 30-minute segment regardless of quality. And besides the possibility that the antagonists of this season possibly creating a superpowered force user akin to Starkiller there is barely anything connecting these two "plots" together. Which brings me to my biggest issue with season 3, the whole thing feels like a bunch of side quests without an overarching point besides Mando and Bo getting some friends and help, but help for what because there isn't a real threat we are privy to or aware about.
