This answered the question I just had sent you. I've spent this evening watching and learning all I can about these machines. Of course I had already ordered the $95 model off Amazon before seeing this. Hopefully nothing will be too distorted that I can turn it up. As stated in the last video I have a Juki and a Sailrite machine. Both of those were traded for , I'm a scrounger by heart.

Can we still order parts from them , even if we didn’t order a sew machine from them ? I know I’m up in age , these machines just impress me the way they look, I just love it ! Well I can’t really say that just yet, I’m going to try and make something so that I can start learning ! I just love leather and seeing the different things you can made ! Thanks for your help ! Hi and thanks for the great information in these videos. If you order the machine from Bantam I love the idea that they go through them but do they come to the customer assembled?

Pretty much assembled, all you will need to attach is the hand-crank and stand.

I appreciate all your videos. What's the largest thread these machines will handle?
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks3 жыл бұрын
T207, but I recommend T138 because there is only so much room in the bobbin.

Now I feel bad ! I just got mine from Facebook Group that uses this kind of machine . Then I found your videos. Those two spring things on the front or in a different place, like yours, is on the flat piece of metal and-mine is next to the first one . Does the thread have to go through both of em ? Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge with us !!

You don't have to use both of them, many folks just use one. I find two is helpful when sewing with fine/thinner thread.

I use the 15x1 needle shank: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHXTh4iel6aHj7M here is a video talking about what needles I use. Plus there are some good comments on that video if you want to use different needles by modifying your needle driver. Skip into 4 minutes of the video to get to your question.

Yes, if you have the time to tinker on it and get to know the mechanics.

After ordering from them personally I would not recommend them. That's jsut my honest opinion. I had emailed them a few question beforehand but did not receive any response. Yet based on the review here I went ahead an ordered, the mid level machine anyway. It arrived basically intact but the package was filled with broken styrofoam, spilled oil, and a generally unreadable original chinese manufacturer manual spotted in the spilled oil. I emailed them again, and again go no after purchase response at all. Eventually after thorough cleanup, I was able to sort most things, but no thanks to Bantan Saddle and Tack. Other than the basic testing, I am not sure what the extra money got me. You might find the extra cost worth it, but be careful.

I didn't find this place until after I had already bought my machine. Since then I've watched numerous videos showing everything you would ever want to know about them. They are simple and bullet proof. Easy to set up and use. Yes, when you open the box you find Styrofoam and oil. It has come here from China. In the past month l have ordered three times from Bantam. I have yet to be disappointed, by the service or the merchandise. Also, the prices are very reasonable. If you order one of these remember, it's a crude machine. Don't panic, just sit back relax, and enjoy the project. It's not that difficult, you can do it.

Mobile Ready Me... Thank You for posting this comment... I was going to order a machine from them but after reading your comments about them not Responding to your emails... I had to order from Amazon Prime... I received my machine in 3 days and it not only looks great it sews even better.... Right out of the box I cleaned it up and set it up and hit worked great not one problem... And the good thing was I only paid $115.20 for my machine...

I purchased my shoe patcher sewing machine from Amazon for $115.00 and paid no shipping costs. It did come from China so it was in Styrofoam and covered in oil. I had my handyman Brother build me a stand for it because the legs that it came with was very unstable and he cleaned it and greased it for me. This thing is awesome for being $115.00!

Finally got the thread to catch correctly but now the presser foot does not advance.... help.?
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks6 жыл бұрын
How thick is the material you're trying to sew?
@michaelfurukawa85266 жыл бұрын
Mainely Acres it's garment thick leather 4-6 oz. But the mechanical foot just does not advance forward. It's like a gear in the machine is disengaged. I was trying to figure out how to disassemble the presser foot area to see if I can fix it
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks6 жыл бұрын
Have you tried adjusting the tension on the presser foot? It's the nut under the sewing arm, closest to the head of the machine.
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks6 жыл бұрын
If you need to take apart the sewing head there are two nuts under the turning tabs.
@michaelfurukawa85266 жыл бұрын
Mainely Acres ok, so those two nuts with the tabs that turn the mount? Ok, i will try the first suggestion and then if not then the second one I will try... again thanks. Wish they’d supply a little more info in a manual of some sort, the leaflet is fairly useless.

Hi Harrison, I've watched all of your sewing machine videos and have learned many tips and tricks from you! I am having a problem with my machine still. I'm using military grade thread and the machine shreds the upper thread on the first cycle. I think it is the bobbin shuttle that is doing it but can't see clearly in your videos if there is an edge that is cutting it or if my shuttle is exactly like your machine. My machine appears to be a little less refined than yours so I'm wondering if I have a sharp edge where it should be rounded? Help me Mainely Acres, you're my only hope. :-)
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks5 жыл бұрын
I would check the needle first. Is the needle hole to small for the thread I am using or is there a bur that is cutting the thread.
@robertmoore77595 жыл бұрын
@@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks So far I've tried three different style needles, made all of the adjustments to the bobbin carrier that you've recommended, changed bobbin carriers, checked gear and needle shafts adjustments and varied the upper and lower tension settings. The last needle I used was a "blue jeans" heavy duty needle that I have used successfully in a standard sewing machine with this thread in the past. I'm not sure what to check next.
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks5 жыл бұрын
If the needle is not the problem then the tension is set too high on ether the bobbin or up top. I would start by checking the bobbin. Can you pull the thread out of the bobbin carrier with ease? Did you try to matching the tension between the bobbin and top?
@robertmoore77595 жыл бұрын
@@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks The thread in the bobbin does pull with ease (some resistance of course). I have not tried matching the tension ... I will try that next. Thank you!

The prices range from 160-240 depending on where you buy them from. All of these machines are made in China and then people buy them in bulk for resale.

This is the information I was looking for. I will call saddle tack in a day or two and order one. There are several sources for this type machine, they look the same more or less, but the differences are usually more than subtle, and you're unwise to expect customer service from China. Thanks.

Your absolutely right, you will get very little to no help from those Chinese companies. Matt, on the other hand, offers awesome customer/tech service and if he can't help you out I will be happy to give it a shot. Best of luck to you!

What I meant was the shoe cobbler would also be a key maker. Little tables set up here and there, a papa-san with a curious little sewing machine, vise and a file. A regular Ace Hardware.

I have my machine, all good. But I cannot get the machine to pick up the bobbin thread. I have worked on this a lot, watched all the videos I can find, think I have every correct. Any suggestion?
@georgegriffin61795 жыл бұрын
BantamSaddle Tack patcher is absolutely a waste of your money and time. Opened foam shipping box and the wheel had flopped all over the parts. Couldn’t tell what was okay or damaged. Sent photo of disaster received and Bantum guy said that was “normal.” He said would not correct the problem. What a disappointment. Terrible way to conduct business.
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks5 жыл бұрын
My question is were you able to put the machine together and see if it's damaged/not working? He reuses the packing these machines are sent with and yes it's normally tore up!! These machines are dang tough and can handle a beating or two.
@georgegriffin61795 жыл бұрын
Got the patcher out of the foam trash and installed the handle/wheel, so technically, it’s together. It is such a piece of Chinese CRAP, It will take lots of patience and lots of refinements, rebuilding, & adjustments to use it. Not worth the time on this $50 piece of junk! The “extras” that came with it were good and appreciated for the price! I’ll purchase a electric pro-model name brand leather sewing machine, Consew Sailrite, etc; expensive as they are. Still would NOT recommend Bantam piece of junk!
