As a track guy I don't think I'd ever go air because of the added complexity and cost. There's more things to go wrong, it adds weight, and KW V3 and Ohlins coilovers are 2/3 the cost for better performance. But as long as you do take the time to set it up right it can definitely outperform stock on most cars. I think price is a dumb thing to hate something on because that's just preference at that point. However, I think the hate stems more from the stance side. As a track guy, I DO NOT like stance cars with intentionally crazy camber and offset wheels, it all looks pointless to me when I could be having more fun improving the car's performance. I just don't like the style at all besides drift cars and it never pleased me aesthetically, I think well setup track cars look better with functional stance. Since air has that association with stance people assume any car on bags is a stance car and that's not true. Air has many applications and can perform. Whether it's worth the cost for convenience and time to setup is up to you.

Your wrong though, A set of broadway static coils literally costs more than a airlift 3p kit at the end of the day now take into account things like spacers, control arms, and axles. Trust me bro people can afford air its not that special bag owners just wanna make an excuse for being wusses.
@unity__38294 жыл бұрын
wait so the problem that if one of the bags decides that it doesnt want to be a bag anymore is fixed?
@GammaRaediation4 жыл бұрын
Another reason is because a lot of bagged owners can sometimes be elitist. Since it costs so much, I've seen bagged car owners belittle static car owners simply because of the assumed sociopolitical ranks. Just because you can afford 3.5k suspension doesn't mean you're better off, but doesn't stop some people from acting like they think they are. You could say static owners can be bad too, but I see more heat from those who are bagged tbh.
@blkeclipsel24003 жыл бұрын
@@GammaRaediation I've went from static to air suspension. Most people who have air suspension has had static at some point and most people who run static hasn't ran air suspension. My personal experience from both sides of the isle are as follows: Static for 3 years: Never once had a bag guy ridicule me. At worst I heard them say they were tired of driving awkwardly and replacing/repainting things. Any guy that far into the stance scene typically has had static suspension before air suspension. If they are an asshole while on bags they were likely an asshole while on static. Air suspension for 1 year: "Oh it's bagged. All show no go" "Why add all that weight ?" "Bags are for groceries but you can't fit any" "How's your tow bill ?" "It's not worth it just get coilovers more for less" "Your suspension cost more than your car" "So this thing mostly travels on a trailer ?" " Why do that to a fast car ? " It goes on and on. ( I own a 2013 Camaro 2SS ) It gets to the point where I question why someone invests so much energy into viciously opposing what I do with MY money. That's not to say that I don't get compliments from guys on static. There are some really cool and humble dudes out there who will admit they want bags but just not willing to pay the difference or their car is simply more track oriented than mine. There are elitists every where and it's not because they have bags or static. It's because they are just assholes in life.

I bit the bullet and bought an airlift system. Hoping I can drive my car like a car again and be able to be low when I want to be low. BUT In my opinion, most of the hate is from who can afford it and who can't. Who knows how to piece together a manual system or find a cheap used system. It's not necessarily the cost of the air ride it's the price of the install as well. At the end of the day like it or not a major factor in the hate, is money. ♥️♥️ love the vids

Went with a more premium coil over because I want te be comfortable on the street and have control on track and choice the Tein Monosport. People with a Z please consider them. They have changed my car for the better. They ride great. All in all it was 2500 out the door. Still not cheap by any stretch but reasonable. Wish to have bags at a few of my other projects.
