You really don't have anything to OFFER the ants. They can't scavenge anything from your body, they don't want to eat your blood or skin, you're intensely dangerous... the only thing ants would want is your garbage. Most people don't really care about that. Ants are, generally, really chill if you're not disturbing their colony. Fire ants, on the other hand, go nuts when they detect a mammal's breath and actively try to find and kill it.

@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy3 жыл бұрын
Well lol, I DON'T think bugs are THAT sophisticated and THAT level of cultured to even understand the meaning behind such symbols.. let alone a species(the ants)to use the skulls for THOSE types of purposes. But if they were... makes me wonder just how far they are from making horror navels and inventing space travel. . . lmao, JUST thought of something! maybe the reason they go around collecting skulls is because they read too much Shakespeare! To be.. or NOT to be! THAT is the question that plagues all ant kind!. . . BUT!. . since we cant answer that question yet... then we'll just have to keep the skulls of our fallen as a souvenir until we can think of something... in the mean time, these skulls shall serve as inspiration!(lmao)
@atrumluminarium3 жыл бұрын
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy how is keeping a skull collection "sophisticated" lol? That sarcasm was just cringey. It's literally the easiest thing you can do. Besides imagery with heads is very prevalent among insects, for example caterpillars stacking past molts of their heads and wearing them as a hat to appear larger and more intimidating, hornets massacring bee hives to move into and leaving only the heads outside to ward off reclaiming bees with the smell of death, etc. That aside, ants understand death much better than any insect, the colonies have dedicated undertakers who distance themselves from the rest of the colony because they know death can be caused by disease, tbh if 2020 was any indication they understand death and epidemiology far better than most Americans do lol.
@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy3 жыл бұрын
@@atrumluminarium That's what am TALKING about by sophisticated! and no... its not just collecting skulls that I was aiming at for the reason why I thought it was sophisticated. I just meant.... its sophisticated because they would UNDERSTAND AND HAVE some sort of meaning behind collecting skulls to a level PROBABLY comparable to a fricking cave man. And then there's all of the other things you just brought up. they seem to understand death very well... like we do. . seems like we've got planet of the apes figured all wrong. its probably going to be planet of the ants(or maybe the list of those other insects you just mentioned)real soon. . .
@vengeance1603 жыл бұрын
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy they are hive minds, or scientifically eusocial insects. Multicellular organisms hence the name, are made of many different cells, so in distant times those cells were independent organisms but later evolved to create colonies, and then the whole multicellular organisms. Now enhance the scale, instead of little cells, imagine a creature that is part of the bigger organism. There is no leader in ant colony, they all participate in eusocial cognitive work, the queen is just a title given by humans, in reality it's just a reproductive "organ".
@loganmoon3803 жыл бұрын
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy what he says is true. The reason why ants appear smart is because they arent separate minds. We have "smart humans" because each humans thinks differently than another. But having a dumb or smart ant isn't an issue in colonies since they are just instructed to do the most logical and intelligent decisions. I believe there is a word for it "emergence"? 2:24 ants are far from the most ancient insect. Firebrats and silverfish are far more ancient and are found in the fossil record 385 million years ago. The first ant fossil is dated around 120 million years ago. Ants are a relatively recently derived family of hymenoptera insects. Hymenoptera have wings (or have a recent common winged ancestor) and undergo complete metamorphosis. Silverfish are a basal group of insects that lack wings and don't undergo any metamorphosis. Eutherian mammals (placental mammals like you and I) evolved 160 million years ago meaning that placental mammals likely predate ants by tens of millions of years.

@bananapalmtree Wrong, 60 million shades of wrong. Climate change isn't human extinction event worthy, it's just extremely disastrous. Economies will crumble, millions will die, and many people will move up north. It's life changing-ly terrible, but not at all likely to end humanity's existence. Now I do think it should be prevented at all costs because the economic fallout and subsequent flooding will be dangerous and destabilizing, but for fucks sake. Also this is a video on ants, on a comment about an ant with a glock. Why the fuck are you even bringing this up?

Actual- there is a reason for concern of living ants having the scent of dead ones. As there is a fungus that kills ants and resurrects them taking control of their body to infect the rest of the ant colony. So in the ant world a zombie apocalypse is a real treat.

@عصفورةلطيفة3 жыл бұрын
Not really selfless nor compassionate. We learned from this video that they are ruthless and have no mercy (even to each other sometimes) If an ant is seen as a liar, the other ants will *kill* her. Ants also steal ant eggs from other colonies to become slaves and work for them. They're not exactly unique either, there are too many insects like them. Preying mantis is one. An enemy that many other insects avoid.
