I swear I didn't mean for this to be an Aubrey Plaza fan channel but I now have so much AP interviews and content archived, and people seemed to like my first AP interview video. Let me know if I should make a part 3 (and 4)? Some class discussion questions: * Which was the funniest clip? Who do you think interviews her the best? * What exactly about her and her interviews are so appealing and entertainment (I'm still trying to figure it out…). It can't be simply her looks- there are lots of beautiful actresses, etc on these shows but they're nothing like her. And there are also a lot of comedians and super-funny guests on but they're also not as fun to watch. * Some commenters on my other Aubrey videos think that she displays some autistic behaviors (silently processing responses in her head etc) but I think the broader term neuro-divergent might apply better (partially resulting from her stroke and expressive aphasia)…thoughts? * Does anyone else think she's gotten a lot more comfortable with these interviews as she got older? Some of the clips do seem like they were "planned" in advance (typical in these types of interviews) but she seems less averse to "re-telling a story" like it's spontaneous or plugging a movie/project, compared to her early appearances. In her more recent interviews, she plays it pretty straight, without needed to put on her earlier persona and seems more like herself (which doesn't lend itself to funny-awkward moments that I left on the cutting room floor). * What was your favorite Aubrey Plaza role(s)/movie(s)? Discuss among yourselves….
@thesaltycobraАй бұрын
I forgot to mention social anxiety, which she references in this and my last AP video. This alone could account for her funny-awkwardness in front of a live audience (even without being neuro-divergent). Also, if my last two AP videos are any indication, the audience for this one will also be overwhelmingly male and mostly in the 45 and older. These are the update stats on my first AP interview video according to KZbin Analytics (as of today October 7, with 554K views). 88% male / 11% female 13-17 years old: 0% 18-24: 1.2% 25-34: 7% 35-44: 20% 45-54: 28% 55-64: 25% 65+ : 17% (I wonder how much of this can be explained by "Dirty Grandpa"?)

And by the way, what the fuck is up with all these random comments below (motivational quotes and shit completely unrelated to the video)? What kind of scam are you dickheads trying to pull anyway? They're all new accounts that just signed up recently...
@jiavideosАй бұрын
I enjoyed the spider bite clip the most and generally like the older, more obscure clips. I do think she’s gotten a lot more comfortable and expressive over the years, but is usually still very authentic with maybe the exception of Ellen, where she adapts to be more mainstream but still quirky with the running gag of living in the studio.

As someone with far more experience with regurgitation than I would prefer, I do not recommend doing it underwater. Because while you are evacuating your stomach, you are also forcing air out of your lungs. So one of the first things you do after each convulsion is a you inhale. Which if you do that while underwater, tends to not work out well for you.
@thesaltycobraАй бұрын
Uh, I’m pretty sure she was kidding about throwing up underwater and no one out there is considering trying it.

I think she is amazing. Very interesting to learn about her stroke and how she had to go through an extended period of not being able to express herself, despite knowing what she wanted to say in her head. I suppose all of that probably contributes to her "unique" way of expressing herself now. I think it's beautiful that from that hardship she's transformed it into something we all love about her.

I just watched "Aubrey Plaza insists she's trying to act normal even though her interviews always go off the rails" and this one, "More proof that Aubrey Plaza is in fact the *best* talk show guest ever (Part 2)." *Suggestion for The Salty Cobra:* It would be appreciated if you could list in the description the episodes of David Letterman, Conan O’Brien etc. that you used.

i hadnt noticed before how shes fidgeting her hands in alot of these. that is an anxiety thing. which she says she is in these interviews at least early on. in later ones she worked out people liked the character and played into it more i think.

@marcblum53484 күн бұрын
> What exactly about her and her interviews are so appealing and entertainment Like with every good comedian, it's all about timing. She takes her time to answer. Meanwhile her face implies a lot of different answers. And then she hits it with a superdry response. Those fast and quick-witted dudes are entertaining, but slow-paced people build up some tension and then release it with a bang. > Does anyone else think she's gotten a lot more comfortable with these interviews as she got older? Yes, significantly.

I'm so glad Dave retired. iconically unfunny person. Preceded by funny people, succeeded by funny people. How the fuck did Letterman last so long? Anyway, Aubrey is the best.
@marksasahara1115Ай бұрын
You haven't seen Letterman in the late 70's, 80's daytime TV, or when he was on late night NBC, in the 80's, 90's. He had really interesting weird guests, like Brother Theodore and Larry "Bud" Melman, early Pee Wee Herman. He had a lot of comedians, like very early Seinfeld. He was doing a lot of funny stuff, like working at a drive through, stupid pet tricks, wearing a velcro suit and jumping onto a velcro wall, wearing an Alka Seltzer suit and being dunked into a giant vat of water. Can a guy in a bear suit get into a strip club? He also had Jay Leno on a lot when Jay was actually funny and kind of edgy. He was also a really great interviewer. There's a great one with Evangeline Lilly. She gets cold. they give her a blanket, but she's wearing a strapless dress, so now she looks like she's in bed, naked. there were many just ephemeral, funny moments. I remember Paul Newman was planted n the audience and he stood up and gave finger guns to everyone, and he may have also winked.
@Beluga_TooАй бұрын
@@marksasahara1115 I have though. He was never better than Johnny. When Carson left it was always gonna be a battle. Glad Dave got it over Chin man (Leno) but he's still not funny. Never was. Neither of them are. As opposed to Conan who is genuinely brilliant. Paul Newman is a treasure... no notes.

Also, I don't think she is found amusing by the majority of people because she has a very different type of personality and acts much different than people expect.

Aubrey's personality 1000000% reminds me of my 2nd girlfriend & OH MY GOD she was so, so, so difficult. I never, EVER knew what to do or what she wanted, it was a constant guessing game, and half the time I couldn't even tell if what she told me was for real or not. bro especially like, tryina get laid or whatever oh my god. It would take like a couple hours to get going every single time because i just COULD NOT read her or what she wanted Its insane how uncanng & similar the two females are. I hope said ex is doing ok, she was certainly an odd one.
