What's been your favorite new game that's came out recently? (I bet Tencent owns at least some of it xD)
@Shyverin Жыл бұрын
Ghosts of Tabor. It’s a VR version of escape from tarkov. I really disliked the cheater issue and how much you need to study to enjoy tarkov (and how a map on your other monitor is basically required) Tabor is a lot more casual with a compass pointing to all the extracts and the inventory management is just so much better in “real life” than doing it in some UI.

Battle Royale? Nah, It's called Hunger Games gamemode. The fact that the most popular gamemode nowadays is hanging from a 11 years old modder's idea is proof enough that the AAA industry is stale. That doesn't mean new good modes don't exist, they come from smaller studios and indies who don't have the resources to make their ideas into a wider market.
@isfabrizio2067 Жыл бұрын
battle royale is litterary a movie made 23 years ago, there were also arma 2 battle royale servers before any battle royale games came out, first one being h1z1 if im not mistaken. But ur right about AAA studios just copying eachother.

Fighting games are still innovating but there's definitely a huge skill floor to those. Melee is one of my favorite games but I can't really tell people to play it. I've played competitively for years and for them to learn it competitively it would take months of actual training. Also rip vahdoh that's sad man.
@KadaiGaming Жыл бұрын
For sure. I come from a game called GunZ which is like a tps + fighting game, similar problem to melee as it will take years to catch up to skill levels. I haven’t ever taken to any fighting games naturally, and I’m always above average at games I play otherwise, makes me rage lmao

I disagree fighting games has never been this casual and terrible The companies try to cash on a larger audience when people only cares about battle royale or mobas now The gameplay of modern fighters have nothing to old ones

Banger video, one of the best I think so far. As for unique games I admire Omega Strikers for trying something a little outside the box. It feels a little too flat in its current form but I think the general groundwork could maybe spawn something else better in the future. MOBA/Tactical Shooter(CSGO/VAL)/Battle Royales really need to be shelved for a bit though. Give us a few years of genuine unique and experimental nonsense, something will stick. Shit, look at Among Us, I feel like it was one of the last big game fads that was TOTALLY outside the box and even though it wasn't a super complex "game" i think there's a reason so many people clung to it.

honestly i wish they made something like fall guys competitive even tho it’s technically a battle royale it’s so out of left field

5:42 "the only games that aren't spawned from some corporate hell pit underground" are for sure cs:go, Dota and Rocket league, league of legends is literally a ripoff from a warcraft 3 community game that used every dirty trick to destroy their competitors, as opposed to these other games that were built from the ground up by their community and who don't try to catter to the masses
@gamersworld4176 Жыл бұрын
valve was already a corporate company when they launched counter strike and dota 2. when league started in 2009, it was a indie company. later in 2011, tencent invested in riot. and if you want to tell league as a ripoff then counter strike and dota 2 can also be considered ripoffs. like you said dota was a warcraft mod and later valve hired some of the original makers of the mod and made dota 2. and counter strike is a half life mod we all know at this point. valve licensed the mod in 2000 and made a standalone game. so if you count making games based on existing mods for other games then dota 2 and counter strike can also be considered ripoffs. also the 2 owners of riot games was also in the team of the original dota mod for warcraft. how can they ripoff their own creation??

The most original competitive game I've ever played was called Heavy Metal Machines. It was still a MOBA by definition, but it was so damn innovative both gameplay-wise and theme-wise that it was on a league of it's own. Too bad the developers didn't invest in what it took to keep the playerbase and had to shut it down, but I heard it's in the hands of a new company right now so who knows.

GunZ was such a good game, but the server i used to play on was the most populated (and still is) was unfortunately filled with EU and other people from around the world, making it so you’d have no choice but to play against players with incredibly high pings that it’s almost comical, not to mention you will be bumping into the same people with those said high pings… not enough new players were joining so to me that was the end of GunZ for me, as a retired glad player, i can appreciate the memories this game gave me, but i won’t be playing it anymore.

i've never been into comp games as my social anxiety is waaaaaay too high to try to get into one on my own and most don't have gameplay that interests me. The closest might be gigantic(which is dead) which was a lot of fun. tho i was too busy to really get into it and then it closed oof. also tales runner..tho it was more arcade-y and I was never really that interested in upping my skill- but just experiencing more game lol. Great vid tho, the whole industry is such a shit show, and I mean we can blame capitalism for basically all of it :I can't making anything interesting if ya can't pay rent.
