I wanted to do a run on my own where I allow myself to use anything but for my videos I like to make them have a few more stakes. With hope diamond it seems you just have such easy access to everything you'd need allowing for runs that can do this. #ravenswatch #nightmare #scarlet

25k damage power leap is diabolical work. I've barely broken 12k and that was as Wukong! Hope Diamond breaks games as long as you're confident you won't die... which should be the case in any Nightmare run to begin with. It's a literal snowball if you buy your way into victory in Chapter 1 or 2.

Exactly, in my normal runs I ban myself from it until the 3rd chapter but even that is sometimes too strong. One of my ideas was to make it so you pick up more dreamshards the lower your health, which kinda plays into its cursed factor of losing all the shards on death, Im curious what they'll do in the full release

i haven’t outright banned myself from it but me and the friends i play with usually avoid taking it in the first 2 chapters unless we have a really rough run.. it definitely needs a nerf. very curious how they’ll tweak it at launch, especially since it’s the only clear outlier in terms of item balance

Yeah it's kinda insane how out of hand runs can get with it, I hope they find a good balance with it but it'll probably always be a strong option if it gives more shards. The only other one that might need something in my opinion is golden coat of chainmail as it lets you ignore vitality for the most part, maybe give it a longer cooldown on how often it can proc

Okay so... I know hope diamond gets you dream shards some how or helps to get more dream shards... What does it do exactly? I forgot... I also know/think there was another item that increases damage based on the amount of dream shards you have, right...?

It doubles the amount of dreamshards you receive but you lose them all on death. If you get it early it snowballs your run really quickly as you can buy everything from the wishing well and sandman. And golden egg use to do that, it was one damage for every 40 dreamshards (I actually made a video trying to make that work) but they changed it in the update to give you 1 damage everytime you spend dreamshards. Currently there's nothing that increases your damage based off how many dreamshards you have

imo make hope diamond 50% increased dream shards and make leprechaun coin 10 dream shards per stack instead of 15 and you solve a lot of these problems. You can still scale harder but you don't become outlandishly powerful in 10 minutes.

Yeah I'm really interested in what they're going to do in the full release of the game, being able to spend that much money in the first or second chapter just makes you way too strong. And you can play around its negative effect super easily by just going to spend shards after every dreamshard camp if you're worried about death

Or make it just double your shards every new day so you have to decide between holding on to your hoard and stay weak or just cashing it out for power ups but making the next doubling worse. Basically anything to make the downside more relevant.

@@PotionSmeller yeah that's an interesting idea for it. I think something that could work is that it gives you more dreamshards the lower your health (like 1% more dreamshards for every % of health missing) which adds to the risk factor of dying and losing all your shards

@@positive4ce Yeah I like that. As it is right now the only downside is teleporting back every 600 shards or so to buy upgrades, which you probably should do regardless and only becomes annoying with hope diamond because you gain shards so damn fast.
