Customer service. Had a customer that complained his chevy wheels were binding up and skidding against each other in tight turns. I am a mechanic. I drove it, yep,verified. Turned off the 4 wheel drive, fixed. Explained it to him, He was embarrassed. I told him, hey Chevy decided to make the 4x4 and the headlight knob identical, it happens. I charged nothing. He tipped me 50$ for the lesson. Good customer for long after. It was all in the book, but some people dont read the book.

Honestly most people probably never use 4low so I am not surprised they wouldn't have much experience using it. Living in Minnesota I almost never have to use it. Just regular 4wd works fine for getting out of most snow. The only time I have had to use 4low was when there was deep snow in front of me and ice under my tires.

Good recoveries, as usual. Trevor made such a good "honorary girl." Jeez, Matt, why'd you have to go mess up Jamie's Jeep? Jamie, it's so good seeing you finally coming out and into your own. When I first started watching this a couple of years ago, you were always in the background, almost part of the woodwork, so to speak - you are really starting to shine! And Lizzie has become so competent in her working her part of the job, it's really good to see. At least this Razor was only stuck, and didn't have the usual broken suspension parts, with a wheel lying flat on the ground. Why doesn't Sand Hollow develop some way of putting up signage, temporary or otherwise, to warn people of these sand traps? Matt, you could be the consultant on where to put the signs, since you're familiar with all the places people get stuck.

Matt, I keep forgetting to mention that you should probably replace the crankshaft position sensor on that Vortec 8100 before you permanently mount the body on the wrecker. Shared a few stories as old men do. Bought some merchandise, headed north to Fab Rats, they weren't in, so now in Ephrain, going to see Robby's crew and the you know what. Then back home to Lebanon Oregon. (Cooler there)! So, I made this trip to see Matt and crew, Paul and crew, and Robby and crew, Poke to a man at the jct corner in Panguiche, said he knew all crews, spok highly of everyone. He fixed my 7 pin so the r Pod Batts would chg. Super nice guy. 3 out of 4 made my trip so much fun. I'll come dawn again to see Fab Rats.Thanks to every one at Matt's, and Robbies.

If he got stuck 2nd time or 3rd time it would be embarassing, but first time what is there to be embarassed about? He tried to do same thing as Matt, car told it was in AWD when it wasnt in reality, he called for help and due to more experience and the electronic systems being finnicky and Matts experience with it he was able to get it into AWD for reals and get it out. If anyone should be embarrassed it is the manufacturer / engineers designing the system.
@gwot
@gwot 2 жыл бұрын
@@Nitihene You know exactly why it would be embarrassing. Stereotypically pick up truck drivers have fragile egos, and getting stuck while the truck isn't really, is embarrassing, that's why he took it well and took that as a learning opportunity. But that being said, that's how all transfer cases are, manual or electronic (although some easier than others), you have to either be in neutral or shift the car for the gears to mesh, try shifting a manual transmission without a clutch and synchros, cuz that's what a transfer case is. Matt simply understands how trucks work mechanically, that's why he was able to engage it, it's not entirely the manufacturer's fault.

That's because rudy's not around to do everything anymore, Rudy used to do all the fabrication, he used to do it all, but now the boy is out doing his own thing and you know what damn proud of him

I read in the comments on another video, how decent you are, how you don't ridicule the stuckee...and I have to agree. I've watched close to a dozen of your vids, and not one time have you said anything but polite things to not only your crew, but, also, the stuckee. You are a man amongst men.

That very first recovery is a perfect example of experience being key to recovery. I managed to unstick my niece’s FWD while she was talking about needing to tow it because I just have more experience. Got a neighbor out of the mud the same way, taking my time and working the problem.

I got stuck in a wash once and it somehow popped out of 4-high and I didn't realize it until I finally got out with lots of rocks under the tires, then saw it was back in 2-wheel drive. Now I check.
