Hi Sam, the leak you have experienced in the car park (5:40) hasn't ruined your PPF. This is a residue that leches out of concrete. It is a residue that is an alkaline substance and can be reversed chemically. A detailer that knows what they are doing can fix this for a fraction of the cost a ppf company would charge. I hope this helps. Joe

As a follower of virtually all car KZbinrs, Sam, you are my favorite. I am excited every week for both Seen through, and Behind the Glass. A series of restoring your father’s Defender would be a treat and a real tribute to the man. You’ve said in the past you’re not the most mechanically minded individual but I’d recommend putting your own touch on at least one item as a bond to your father. Keep up the amazing work

Sam, before you put any additional funds into the Panamera have a go in a pre owned AMG GT 53, 63 or 63S 4 door. Over the past 12 years I-have had 4 different Panamera’s including the turbo as my daily driver. I loved them. Then I drove the AMG GT63 four door. I was absolutely blown away! I bought one that day. It is by far the best daily driver I have ever had and it might be the best car I have ever had (time will tell). The combination of modern tech, various drive modes, and comfort are incredible. I think your channel would appreciate that content too!

I agree that a Defender restoration series would be fabulous. In terms of UK roads, they've definitely become worse in recent times. They just seem so poorly maintained, and it sadly takes some of the fun out of having a nice car. The GT3 makes sense to keep as a European roadtrip car because of it.

My dad went through this with his g series 911, it bothered him sometimes in his 25-30 year tenure with the car that he didn’t use it often enough. There were years he’d only put a few hundred miles on it and he’d say wha5 a waste having it was, then he’d take it out on his favourite a and b road route locally, or to see a client along some cracking driving roads and it reminded him just what a great car it was and like he’ll was it leaving. In the end, it left purely because he didn’t have a garage at home it could live in. Keep the GT3 if you can. So long as you’re using it somehow, defo worth having the * the best china. Definitely a defender resto would be cool.

Defender restoration series would be a great watch! especially with the family connection to your dad. Perhaps get some family member to share some of the memories growing up. Keep the 911 GT3 as long as possible, especially as you got it same week your daughter was born. Your memories as a family in that car will make you want to keep it forever I suspect. 360 CS, keep the red colour if you do a respray in my opinion. I would keep the panamera stock and not modify it (other than colour change). Don't feel bad for not using them much on British roads, the state of them nowadays and traffic makes it frustrating. Also track days are super expensive to do regularly. Thanks for the update Sam :)

There are loads of good roads with little to no traffic or policing in the south of England - Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, West Sussex, etc. Loads! I know various stretches where you'd be unlucky not to have a clean run. There seem to be lots of people who live London, don;'t know where the good roads are (and they're really not terribly far from London) and o make the mistake of assuming they're all like the obvious main roads and rat runs they end up on.
