@@RoryOnAir both of you are quite literally awesome- in that i'm awed by your respective career paths , and the quality of videos you both make about such a great place as Auskerry. Great piece o storytelling Rory. I probably won’t be out on Auskerry again but the memories are there . The Marbeth, lots o mackerel, steering into the slip , piping competitions great crack wi pipers, drummers, various boat crews, and very special hospitality from your Mum and Dad. A bit o singing,”The Beleana” comes to mind. ‘‘Twas a privilege to have been part o it. Good luck t all o ye.

Hopefully we will get a second chance but vlogs like these certainly help. 379 Scottish, Welsh & English islands summited sp far plus 482 lighthouses.

Yes it’s been in my blood for a long time and it’s only now I’m going to realise it for real. Your videos along with Plane Old Ben’s, Flying Reporter etc have really inspired me to pursue it. As I mentioned the other day, life will always get in the way but you have to make positive strides at the right time to make it happen..... Hi Rory I’m the person who commented on the last video and I can happily confirm that I will be soon starting flying lessons with mainair in in the ikarus c42! I just wanted to know whether or not you can still use the nppl(m) if you go on to get a more advanced license like a lapl or a ppl?
@RoryOnAir6 жыл бұрын
James Tarantula Hi James - That’s great news! I’m delighted you have taken up learning with Mainair. Do come and say hello when you see me up there. Unfortunately the window for using the NPPL (m) to get a LAPL has closed but I wouldn’t be surprised if something else comes along by the time you get your licence. I would press on and get the NPPL m, enjoy flying the microlights and gain some pilot experience. Whether you want to do more training or not will become obvious at that point.

Darren Weston well I didn’t take the controls on this one, although I have briefly before. It’s clearly a very capable aircraft and if you want to be able to land and take off on a very short, rough surface then I think it’s a winner. Let me know how you get on - I’d love to build something.
