Re Zero Starting Life in Another World Season 2 Episode 21 ascends Emilia into best girl status. Even Roswaal and Ram had to acknowledge Emilia's growth as a person. Ram has always followed Roswaal and helped him achieve his dream. However she stood up to him for the first time and it isn't for revenge. She truly loves Roswaal and its sad he can't even see her for what she really is. This is truly why I love anime so much

@@WokeandProud I like the change personally, Ram engaging against Roswaal in the WN was real confusing to me, like you know Roswaal is too strong, Ram aint stupid enough to engage in a fight where she had no chance of winning. Granted in the WN, Roswaal used his own mana to create the snowstorm thats why Ram had a fighting chance against him. But now they using the Ryuzu crystal for it which makes a lot of sense. This change made Puck more useful too, that little shit wasnt doing anything remarkable with his power for the entirety of Rezero. I just want Tappei to follow the conclusion of their battle in the WN. That scene gave Roswaal a lot more substance and character development. Finally, he was able to break a few chains binding him to his delusions.

As a web novel reader, I completely forgot about Subaru's mansion entrance with Petra, and then I remembered right as Petra was by herself looking at the cloth. Then I remembered, and it was beautiful. However, one thing that I'm always confused about, and I hope it eventually gets explained in the novel, is Ram's undying infatuation with Roswaal. Just like how Rem would die for Subaru (and vice versa), Ram would die for Roswaal. The baffling part is that Rem's infatuation makes sense, but Ram's doesn't. The most Roswaal has does for Ram (that we've seen) is keep her alive (the loss of her horn means that she needs constant mana injection or she'll suffer), and although that's pretty big, I still don't think it's deserving of Ram's love, considering her character. She even knows that she's just a pawn and that Roswaal could've saved her village, but didn't. The only possible explanation so far is that she has stockholm syndrome, which is pretty sad.

puck's back from the store to fight roswaal, that was absolutely not what I expected and roswaal's reaction to puck was even more unexpected. I'm pretty sure back in S1 during a flashback when ram got her horn cut you can see roswaal there or roswaal's silhouette, he just clarified it this episode if I'm not remembering wrong. Most hyped about Garfiel though, his development and entrance to the mansion was amazing.

There is a small detail that maybe adds upon the theory that Hector merged with roswall. During his confrontation with emilia and ram,when he was telling "congratulating" her and telling that he and Subaru are the same,ther has been a big emphasis on his left eye,the yellow one.Either talking with one with eye open or zooming in on that same eye during that conversation. It feels like he is getting power from that side of his power to put doubt,and, in to an extend,melancholy in Emilia's relationship with Suburu. So,maybe using this theory,this could explain why he has a contact with the witches' cult because he is either partly or is the warlock of melancholy.

I'm looking at Roswaal as a dark counterpart of Subaru (in a selfish/selfless dynamic): Roswaal will "sacrifice anyone" in the name of his gospel, whereas Subaru will Return by Death as many time if it means he can "save everyone" from their would-be grim fates. Another awaited scene where Garfiel saves his sister from Elsa is nothing short of awesome. There's Ram's fight against Roswaal, Ram would be OP'd if she hadn't lost her horn. Needless to say, Ram's still a badass (albeit a handicapped one).

I really loved the reaction of emilia, when subaru and the gang left for the residence ... she was like "ok then i do my thing here, but they could have waited for my success ..." It was a great little moment, that showed that emilia is now able to try on her own! I love the attention she gets this season!

It’s sad that if Subaru didn’t have his return by death, everyone would be correct about Emilia and Roswaal would be absolutely correct with his philosophy. I say that his philosophy would be absolute because the way the world naturally is and without the ability to literally rewrite fate that Subaru has, nothing of substance could really go against the philosophy of Roswaal.
