Hey Carl, I noticed that you connected the emergency break away cable to your fifth wheel hitch. That location is not legal because if your hitch actually breaks from your truck, the cable will not trigger the brakes. It actually has to be attached to a separate location from your hitch. (20 year owner of a trucking company) just trying to keep you safe. Love you guys!

The tank replacement may not have been "light & entertaining" but your presentations are ! In my 40+ years of RV-n (not full time) I've learned to just do most every repair & maintenance myself. Even when the shop's do repairs I ended up doing them over. As you said early into this video, "they don't care". Stuff just happens & ya gotta figure it out. Laundry; I lost that job when my wife saw me separate it into 2 loads; white & all others, use just 2 small machines (cheaper) for 2 weeks of laundry + towels! The coup de grâce; if one cup of soap is good, 2 is real good, right !

Gee that is how I sort clothes: white/light and dark. More soap doesn't do the trick. Less is better. You and I would do fine with laundry.

I just got a job at a trucking company and overheard them saying that one of their drivers drove 80 miles and then the trailer came loose in the middle of the road. They said it was because he high hitched the trailer and did not visually look at the hitch to confirm it was 100% latched. Thank you for talking about this. You definitely need to do a pull test but you also need to visually look also.

We have ours stored at Lakewood Camping Resort and found a mobile guy there that picked it up for us and had our Solitude moved on site and changed it out for us. Saved me a lot of stress since we are in Ohio. On a side note...Lakewood has the best soft water than any other campground that we have ever stayed at. Most likely the reason you had the leak there. Good luck on the adventures. I wish we could have met you at the rally. I got a little under weather while we were there and didn't want to risk getting anyone sick if I had Covid. Good morning Hanks from Chattanooga Tennessee! I thank you for your real and entertaining content. This is my first time commenting on your channel. What prompted my comment was the fact that you guys went to Campers Inn, there in Myrtle Beach. My wife and I did some RV shopping while we were there on vacation back in March. We purchased our first coach in November of 2021 a 2012 Forest River Classic Super Lite. Eight months later, we now have a 2018 Montana high country that we just purchased after selling our house. We are almost completely debt free, and will be completely debt free in a couple of years. We still have about seven years before I retire, but we decided to prepare early. We are currently stationary in a RV park. We will be out there soon. Hope you guys haven’t given up by then. If you are ever back in Chattanooga Tennessee connect with us. It would be great to meet Dexter… ok you and Nene too.

I'm so happy you guys got it fixed!! I was waiting all week to find out! 😄 My husband and I felt last weeks video, and can relate to this so much! We were staying in a tent for 3 weeks while they had our home on wheels, just to have nothing fixed. They had it that whole time looking for part numbers before they even submitted the claim for the warranty work. I was upfront about the fact that we lived in it, and when we started applying some pressure the person who was handling our rig acted like they didn't know. Then he was out for a few days and the other workers couldn't give us any information. He was super nice when we came to get it, but now we have to take it back and hope they can get it done in a day, which he said they would. It's been 2 weeks and we still haven't heard about the parts. It's frustrating for sure, but the whole system is broken.

Being full time RV’r is much harder than for us weekend warriors! We can buy at a local dealer and have some amount of loyalty from the dealer. But you must find a dealer that cares about you. We got very lucky and found such a dealer in St. Louis. Every time I was there, all you hear while listening to conversations others were having was “Customer Service” from the sales people, service writers, and the Techs working on the RV we bought from them. But if you didn’t buy from there and are not a member of Route 66 group, “We’re sorry but we must take care of our customers first”. Happy you finally got that tank placed! Next thing to happen will be the water heater. Stay Happy Hanks! Kevin

Been there Carl. They lost the keys, and had to order new set. I had them install the hitch, and it wasn't done right, tons of sway, had to return. Front cap was damaged, and it took 2mos to get. When it arrived, the decals were trashed. I purchased the trailer last March, and I'm waiting for the decals to be installed... gonna do myself.. I have more issues with grand design and this dealer, but I'll leave it at that. Enjoy your trip. Chris

That’s awesome it’s finally fixed! Our problem seems to be surrounded by the barn door style for our bedroom (in our TT) and all the interior trim popping off the finishing nails. I’m constantly renailing and rehanging the door.

I would watch your channel over ANY comedians out there! You two make me smile and laugh so hard! One thing to note about warranties when buying an RV, we bought from a dealer that has a lifetime warranty on certain items. ALONG with that warranty is the perk of hotel stays for free or reduced prices when your RV has repairs if you fulltime or something happens on a trip. I KNOW people think most RV warranties are a waste of money, but we have extended warranty through NAWAN and they have been amazing. I can give you information, or your original RV dealer should have the information, too. Safe travels and God Bless!

Y’all. We can do relate. We are in the midst of having our black tank replaced after a complete disaster of a cross country trip, death in the family, and an emergency surgery for my hubs. The rv life has its pitfalls for sure.

You guys rock!!! You had a super tough day with your leaky tank not getting replaced. You guys must be Irish, if it wasn't for bad luck we didn't have no luck at all.

We feel your pain on this one! We moved from our campspot for service and the work never got done even though they had our camper for 3 days! Ugh

I feel your pain! Last summer on a road trip, we hit some debris that cracked our gray tank and we had to cut our trip short. We are fortunate to have a great mobile RV tech that was able to replace the tank, coming to where we keep our trailer. If we went to the dealer, it would have taken months for them to fit us in their schedule.

Glad you finally got that retang fixed. We’ve been trying to get our level levelling system repaired since mid May they keep telling us they need different parts. Sure would be nice the press one button and have the RV leveled. Thanks again for your great videos.
