My review Golden Chick is good eating, but they are pricey. For example, the catfish plates. They come in 2 or 4 piece with side, roll and drink. The fish is very small and they claim if they are small, they will ad another piece. They rarely do. The 4 piece is $15 and after you are done eating, you will feel, or at least I will question that I paid $15 for this when other places sells full fillets with a decent side portion for under $10, though without drink. I will say they have a good variety on sides compared to places like Popeye's and Churches, sides such as cut green beans if you are trying to lessen your carb intake, but even the sides can come a bit short portion-wise. I give the 5 stars for good food, but 2 stars on price.

Everywhere is pricey now. I grew up with Golden Chick and Chicken Express competing against each other (as they still do) and just since 2017 the 4 tender combo prices at both places have increased 200+% Both of these places have my favorite tenders ever but I give the edge to Golden Chick for having better rolls and fries. I cannot comment on catfish as I only get it at Cheddar's, which itself seems to be on the decline since being bought out by Darden. The one new up and coming chicken and seafood place that has pretty decent quality and better prices is Lisa's Chicken but that will be limited to the DFW folk.
