Honestly as dumb as all of this crap was you almost wish it didn't failed when you look at the sad state of Venezuela is in. However from what I can tell this wasn't even supported by the US at the time last time I check but who knows what came or will come out of it. Though we had another big dumb moment in 2023 in the summer if a place called Ukraine... It was doom to fail from the start and we did took a big leading part in that.

As much as people meme this, we know now that it was a CIA ran OP that failed spectacularly , it isn't even the first time something like this happened the exact same way like in 72 when they attempted to overthrow Yugoslavian president Josip Broz "Tito" in the so called operation "Phoenix". This one is pretty funny so Yugoslavia learned of this because both other parts of CIA as well as french inteligence agents that were against it ratted the operation out several days in advance and made it semi public causing the French to crack down on their "rogue element" in their inteli service that was supposed to provide support and additional supplies to the operation. SO the Croatians carrying it out were basically post-WW2 facist remnants and they were so propaganda brainwashed that they expected that people would just rise up in support of them in a national revolution, the exact opposite happened, one guy was almost shot by his own brother, others were ran out of villages where they tried to find support from their relative and family members, sometimes they were even shot on sight once people learned who they were and what they were about. Police was sent after em(no the army wasn't they were considered that insignificant), they had to save several terrorists that were lost in hills in bosnia who were starving and injured, tho most were still on the run. By this point there was a massive manhunt organized by the locals (yes it wasn't even the authorities , just locals , hunting associations ,WW2 veterans ,etc) and this is were things sadly escalated as this started without the authorities knowing about it it wasn't run well along with a few people getting shot as the terrorist were getting desperate at this point and finally the army was called in to promptly put a stop to this which they did. After that Yugoslavia basically stopped tolerating such groups being sheltered in other countries like Australia , Argentian, Germany,etc and started promptly their own version of post WW2 nazi hunts that certain other country carried out
