I still think the Jags could find a way to bring Calvin back. Calvin's best games came when Zay Jones was available playing X and taking those press looks. Gabe Davis is a Zay Jones upgrade/replacement not a Calvin replacement per say. If calvin does go elsewhere they will draft someone in the first 2 rounds.

@@beckard was there an update? They’re already the highest paid receiver group without him so it’d be $20 more for receivers than anyone else. It is the jags though

Hate to buss your bubble but he is not all that take it from a bills fan but who knows a change of scenery my do him some Justice but be prepared for him to not catch passes in some games 😂😂😂

Love this move for Gabe Davis. Underrated. Considering him a good WR3 seems like a wild statement I'd say he's at least a 2 and not being opposite Stefon Diggs and having a better QB situation will give him a good chance to show what he's got.

He's an iffy WR2 and good WR3 option. He had the ideal situation in Buffalo but couldn't capitalize on it. We will see what he's about in Jax.

Gabe had some unbelievable preformances. He sometimes had some catches that would blow your mind and then he would disapear. He might be great with Laurance but at the end of his tenure with the Bills Allen and Davis were not on the same page. He would break left when Allen was throwing right and a lot of the time it would end up as an INT. Plus he doesn't have a great catch rate. One more thing... This would be the second time he kicks Zay Jones out of the room

Here's a fun stat: despite playing the same # of games, Mac Jones has a better passer rating & completion % that Lawrence, the guy he's now backing up. Also, 1 more TD to the same # of INTs. Fewer fumbles but also of course fewer rushing yards. My point is that Lawrence hasn't developed connections to _ANY_ of his receivers yet. When Pederson took things in hand he worked around this, now that he handed off the play-calling everything went back to before. & Davis is known for not developing rapports with his QBs. So _FUN!!_

@@choosecarefully408 what world are ypu living in... Mac Jones. 47 total TDs... Laurence...69 total TDs... Mac 8900yrds. Trevor 11700 yards... Mac had a roster that won the superbowl two years prior... Laurence was the first guy drafted by the worst team in football. Mac got benched because he was so bad. Trevor has a bad team around him....seriously Zay Jones was his best reciever.

@@answeris4217I'm looking for the video where I saw the stats of 4 QBs from that draft posted together. I was tired & am dyslexic so I could easily have read things wrong just as I'm correcting spelling errors as I go. Sure enough, even the amount of games they've both played isn't what I remember. I remembered 33 games. Maybe they posted their first 33 game stats only? Since then Jones has gone way down, Lawrence, not so much.

@@choosecarefully408 He came in the league the same draft as -Trey Lance (Dallas backup) -Justin Fields (probably will have a second chance) -Zack Wilson (not NFL calibre) If anything the Jags picked the best of the bunch. Mac will end up a backup for a while I believe but he isn't close to what Laurance is or Fields or Lance although who knows about Lance...

As a Bills fan, I love Gabe. Hard worker, did the dirty work, blue-collar type, strong guy, great blocker, and he’ll make the occasional big play and have a big game. But here’s the thing: He’s incredibly limited as a receiver. He drops a lot of passes, very limited route tree, and he struggles to get separation, so he has issues making any impact on the first or second level. He’s a downfield receiver who is going to give you a ton of effort.

The upside he's a tremendous blocker a team first guy I and by all accounts a hell of a teammate. The downside he can't get open against starting corners It's catch rate as fifty four percent His drop rate is at or near the top of the league every year, including going back to college.It's in his dna.It's part of who he is He can't win early. Yards after catch don't exist Very limited route three He's not a burner so dbs .Play off coverage and he's generally no factor His big plays come with Allen extending plays on the run. Hard for all the quarterbacks to duplicate Just not a legit number 2 in a pass.Happy offense with an elite quarterback

As a Jags fan, I can say Trent Baalke signed Davis to be the #3 and a replacement for Zay Jones, but that was with the assumption Calvin Ridley would be back. When Ridley left, it forced us to keep Jones, so now we are stuck with a pair of #3 WR's with Christian Kirk being the #2 out of the slot and we have a big, gaping hole at #1 WR. IMO, Davis will prove to be a huge waste of cap space. He lacks the ability to get consistent separation and his hands are only so-so. He's just currently a cheaper version of Zay Jones, who still might get cut after the draft.

Yeah they said the same bout Kirk n Zay lol If Ridley catches half those drops, he has a career year. We gave him a chance, he didn’t work out. Kirk is our 1 by definition. He’s just best used in the slot. He’s Wes Welker. If Zay and Gabe stay healthy, I like what they bring. Big guys that can win downfield. I like Keon in the 2nd. AR15 ran a 4.61 too. I’m just saying.

I'm a bills fans and Gabe can go not consistent enough and had several games where he didn't catch a single pass so I will pass on resigning Gabe Davis that's why he went to the jaguars y'all can have him 😂

FYI they have a 4.31 guy that was sitting most of the season in Isabella and a Giant 6'4" that runs 4.5 that was stashed on Injured reserve in the preseason. Again...who will they sit in the starting skilled position??? Won't be Cook...or Diggs...probably not Kincaid...Knox??? Or Shakir...both have incredible chemistry with Josh and make unbelievable plays. You can't have 6 skilled guys on the field the rules don't allow it.

I would take Jakobi Meyers over Gabe Davis and it’s not remotely close. Meyers was balling last year, and that was with a terrible QB.

Dudes wayyyy overpaid, but good luck he had one huge game, and alot of low catch games and a few big splash plays, he's a WR 2 at best and has a low catch rate but hey u gotta have weapons, I just wouldn't have paid that for him

As much as I liked Gabe, he had to go. Too many dropped passes. Couldn't separate. Injury issues. Hope this changes in Jacksonville, but he's 5 years into his career. I'm not sure this was a good move by Jacksonville.
