This thing looks simple but it has tainted Nigeria with a very bad image because of the age group involved -imagine what they'll do in their 40s 🤔 they better close the school because we outsiders are watching. Its interesting that most of my friends who dont follow anything in west Africa also know about this. This is horrific! I've not woken up from this shock. My point is there is no way this particular incident will portray Nigeria bad if justice is done. Rich parents have whittled the authority of school teachers and managers so, they generally mind their business for fear of what parents may do to them for exercising authority over the pupils. I once went to see a teacher in one of the elite schools in Lagos over one of his students and I wondered at the lack of class control. The children were talking as if the teacher wasn't there, they didn't respectfully welcome me, the visitor, the way we did in our time; two kids were even starting a fight and the teacher mildly asked the to move away a bit so he could hear me properly. When I questioned the teacher, he said he didn't want to be sacked for shouting on the children. He said the school management practically worshipped parents and students and could sack anyone for speaking 'rudely ' to the kids supposedly under their purview. That's the warped system you see today. The teachers simply mind their business and then parents begin to get these kinds of result. But this one is just too tragic😭

It’s heart wrenching in all levels, my son got bullied at primary school due to jealousy of other parents on my lifestyle, being a single mom working hard to care for my four children, these parents were bitter on how I coped with life, instead they sent their children on my little boy because he is shy and very respectful and can go miles to please others because of how I raised him to be humble, respectful and kind, these mothers and their children makes life hard for me and my child which make it harder for me to comprehend things, of how humans are. His bullying was severely verbal and physiologically and at some point he decided he doesn’t want to go to school anymore and prefer to be with my late mom in heaven, it was heart wrenching for me to bear, what am trying to say here is that, jealously or bitterness might have played a greater role into the abuse of this innocent child or even wanting something close at heart to this little boy siblings if you have watch that zoom video carefully their is much said than many can catch up in, forcing him to admit about him seeing his sister nudity during one of his bullying, just to create tension between both so his sister can despise him was a red flag, which according to his sister the little boy was quite and couldn’t defend him self when asked 💔but later told what happened right there was a red flag but no one see this coming, am not blaming the sisters here as they never taught things would have got way out of hands as it is now, as to the way those involved portrayed him. Despite his brother/ sister leaving due to completing their final year that boy was hopeless being there alone of what might have happened to him due to his constant bullying and abuse. The moment his accusers were confronted that opened the pathway to more abuse which should have been prevented by the school yet still they failed both him and his parents and us all who have been affected by his tragic passing 💔as it was draining for him. Going back to my little one he was age 6/7 at that point in time during his abuse and not much was done from his school, I was heart broken which left me drained because I was not getting the help needed in other to stop the bullying or even listening to what my son has to say to me until I found his writing letter saying I rather be with grandma in Heaven where I can find peace as no one is listening to me, then I realised his fear and cry for help as he was very quite all times and loosing weight too, thankfully we got rehoused to another place far from where he was being bullied and he finally found relief and make new friends which took him a year to study other children’s behaviour before he started mingling himself with these new children, but he was very careful at the same time, why am saying all these is that please us as parents have to listen to our child or children’s cry for help and know the best way out to support them, seeing that little Angels video, and up to this day left me heart broken and couldn’t eat, sleep or do things well, it hit close to home, bullies pick on calm, soft and kind hearted people and that was Sylvester 😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔an innocent Soul, kind and respectful little Angle 😭😭😭😭💔💔the fear of his life due to the constant abuse and treat he faced from those demons is what prevents him from telling his parents the hard truth of what was done to him, thinking he might get treated and sent back again to those same sick children who bullied and abused him and make him feel worthless as he taught no one is listening to his cry for help 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔this left me completely broken, please kindly understand my point of view am not blaming his parents as they did what most parents could have done, they did all their best to go as far as investigating the matter and the school promised them it’s handled that nothing of such behaviour will happen again, yet they failed them all😭😭😭💔💔the school failed both Sylvester and his parents, parents please create a space of transparency with your child or children and encourage them to be more open minded with you when communicating with you as open communication is the key to all close doors and listen to their cry for help on every levels, as I ones make that same mistake telling my son to be strong that nothing will happen to him until I can’t take it no more, and up till this day my son now 12 called me a snitch for confronting the school about the bullying which make life more worse for him as the school could not prevent him from the bullying he was enduring from the other children and up till this day despite it was verbal and physiological abuse he faces from those kids, it is still hard for us all to get pass it, because the minute you confronted those bullies they will make life a living hell for their victims and that was what happened to little Sylvester, RIH😭😭😭💔💔🙏🏽 a serious action should have been taken by the school and remove him from the dom or room he was staying with those senior students and place him somewhere safer with his peers of the same age group which could have prevented his early demise at some stage, but God knows best. For me up to this moment I keep asking God for forgiveness and thank him for giving me the strength to make the right decision at that point in time to listen to my child as I was afraid moving him from one school to another not knowing what he might face where he’s going. These boys are demons, heartless creatures with no fear of God, I pray this time around their money, wealth, power and strongholds failed them😭😭😭🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽I continually pray that our Heavenly Father will rain vengeance upon all involved until Justice is serve for Sylvester 😭😭😭💔💔💔🙏🏽🙏🏽such a beautiful Soul wasted all in the name power, bullies and jealousy, people can be wealthy but still struggles with what the less fortunate possess so do understand me don’t judge me negatively, I felt Sylvester’s pain and keep crying every day 😭😭😭💔💔as I face a similar situation where I was poisoned at work due to jealousy and nothing was done about it, up until this day, I received treatment at hospital but not related to the poisoning that was done to me and not even instant treatment was ministered to me instead I was sent back home as they said everything was fine with me💔because of the connection of the owner of the place I work for, to me that is negligence as I was left to die without the truth being told 💔my cry for help and truth was silence instead one of health care practitioners said you cannot get the answers you are looking for as to why they decided to induce substance into your water, my heart sunk instantly as they diagnose me with something else, in the case of Sylvester the hospital they took him too said it malaria after a blood sample was done💔that’s pure medical negligence, no proper medical treatment was provided even with the scan and this boy suffered for days without proper medical treatment which might have changed situation who knows, so back to my case, as we all saw him suffer in pain and agony due to his final hour😭💔. So going back to my case, two months I was only drinking liquid milk because of constant pain in my internal organs 😭which help defuse the high acidic level of substance infused into my bottle of water as the liquid milk sustained me through out, I was unable to eat or even drink water or walk as was in constant body pain which makes situations worsen for me💔I was left nearly paralysed for a year and now started to learn to walk again like an infant which is devastated for me and my children, the reason am putting this incident on your page it to raise awareness as to my experience and that which happened to little Sylvester😭😭😭 RIH🙏🏽, seeing an 11years old going through similar pain and agony of forcefully induced chemical substance into that little Angel’s😇 mouth, despite all the constant torture that causes him bodily harm, yet still they went further ahead and done the unthinkable on that sweet child😌😭😭😭😭the pain is unbearable, 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔this completely break my heart into pieces 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔my heart is heavy as we all join his family for Justices during this difficult time in life and may his killers never go unpunished 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔Rest Well Little Angel 😇 😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔🙏🏽.

I went to a boarding school in the seventies and nothing like that went on. Students who disobey the rules or late for lectures or events are disciplined by the House Prefects. The junior students are protected by their elected senior allocated to them each year. If things have deteriorated to the extent of senior beating a junior to death in the dormitory then there is something wrong in that school. The society needs to wake up because students are future leaders and if they are able to do things like that, think of what they will do when they assume leadership positions in the society. What would stop them going to the extent of killing their opponents just to gain power. Those students must be punished for going to the extreme of taking the life of that innocent beautiful boy . Those killer boys and the parents who brought them up to behave in such a savage manner will live with the guilt. The pride of parenthood lies on the success of their offsprings becoming respected and useful members of the society. What pride for parents of children who are entering their adult life with blood on their hand. They will live with the guilt and shame of their offsprings for the rest of their lives.

This same has been happening for a long time. I still remember when one pf my classmate, who lived in the dorm ( I was a day student) was murdered by another after school. Though he was a sickly, fragile kid, the much stronger Maxwell punched his light out. He fall, and never got up. I remember we, all students walked so many miles through many villages to take his body(coffin) home to his family. We stayed till his internment the next day, before heading back home. This happened in the '80s. Maxwell was either expelled from the school or his parents pulled him out of school.

I watched the video of this boy's pain.and I observed something psychologically.pls watch the video and observe that he hesitated when he was asked what he was hit or stepped on with before he said its slippers. This is because he was still afraid and traumatised believing that if he snitches again it will be another round of pain.who knows the deep treat they gave to this little boy. Judging by what his sisters said he is the type that could kiss up to a person just to be loved. So this simply means he is a very fearsome fellow. Now my point is that this is not just bully revenge or join cult thing. Sly saw something he shouldn't see which is very grave that goes beyond normality and requires this kind of treatment just to keep it a secret. Sly went to his grave with a big secret which clearly involves the principle, the dorm master or a big sponsor or pioneer of the school. This matter is beyond police o! If we want justice cos this could have been anyone's son, brother or nephew. I rest my CASE

I don't think it has anything to do with Sylvester's brother. Sylvester's friend said the senior students said Sylvester snitched on them, and the other junior students that were excused from the room were also warned that if they snitched on the senior students what happened to Sylvester will also happen to them.

You really dived into this matter so well base on boarding school experience. I also attended a boarding school..... I can relate more with it been a grudge than the say that it's cultism..... obviously they did not mean to kill him they went over the edge bullying him and now trying to lie about what they did because it led to his death. School authorities need to divise a way to control bully. It may be difficult but it's achievable.
@BNJTalks2 жыл бұрын
Are you really indulging in speculations about Sylvester's character as a basis for understanding why he was bullied to death? Even if the child was rude, disrespectful or whatever else, no one has a right to beat or bully him. Whether or not the seniors had a grudge is irrelevant. There is no scenario where what happened is justifiable and this type of speculation is unhelpful, please. You have now compounded this unhelpful approach by speculating that this attack is a reprisal for bullying done by Sylvester's older siblings - something that you have no basis to do at all. The people to blame are those who killed the boy. No justification for their actions. Stop this baseless and unfair speculation.

@@yomiyomi252 What I have to say is very important. It is important to put aside the desire for speculation, views and likes and for a minute step into the shoes of this boy's family. They lost a child and someone on the internet is using his platform to speculate as to whether it was the character of the child or his siblings that lead to his being bullied to death? You really can not see that this compounds the pain for the family and is grossly unfair? And for what? Views and likes? We have to act better than that. People will speculate but to take it a step further and record this video with this type of analysis is just wrong please! Rather than malign the boy's character or that of his siblings, keep quiet. It is the humane thing to do.

Those children are simply evil, I attended a boarding school in late 70s and early 80s, they have been brought up seeing evil around them so they needed to exhibit it, let parents do thorough checks on what our children watch, hear and the kind of friends they keep. Parents should be closer to their wards and listen to them, then do thorough investigation, don't be too busy to attend to them... We will give accounts to God on those children. R. I. I like your critical analysis. What they did was thought out and planned. But they had a unified reason; either as a brotherhood revenging against what the boy's elder bro did to them as a senior or an issue with their sister. But whatever it was, their minds had gone too far to think of taking a person's life without a second thought. If their minds are that mature for such, it shouldn't be less mature for the consequences.

Thanks bro for sharing your thoughts But I'm pained right now I'm pained because this type of thing can not be tolerated in the school I graduated from and even in some schools out there I mean it a fed Uni in Taraba State but I have never heard a case like this not to talk of a well recognized college in "the Almighty Lekki" Lagos the centre of attraction in Nigeria. Your Excellency sir, Thank you very much sir for acting the way you did May God bless you. And I must blame the school authority for their incompetent performances towards their pupils They should not be allowed to continue with boarding activities any more because they're incapable of handling boarding activities. Like at what point did they find out about the young boy,'s situation? And what type of unqualified nurses who did not know the difference between a major case and a minor one about their patient. I mean, if it was a public school that made this silly mistake hell would have let loosed but imagine this type of thing happening in a college where parents pay heavily to get their children quality education and they get this as a result It a shame honestly Where were the house master of Sylvester's room. How come the school didn't for one day check up on the boy after he went home except for the nurse and the boy's class teacher I feel this college is not even qualified to be approved by the state because this whole thing happening right now is so unprofessional I am so fed up of packaging strategy in Lagos State. Like so many unqualified companies and organizations out there not just in this state but everywhere in Nigeria who don't care about proper services to humanity but how they can by all means enrich themselves. This is a very big lessons to everyone who are parents or guidance please whatever school you choose to put your child, you should do a proper checkup You should go beyond being convinced by the packing of such school but make your findings first and also follow up your child activities both at home in school Try very hard to have a sweet relationship for your children. Try to understand your children because obviously it is very paramount as parents and guidance Thanks

There is absolutely no justification for the murder. Those little cowards should be charged as adults and given life in prison with no chance at being paroled. The doctor and nurses at the school must be striped of their licenses and charged for negligence, likewise all school officials who had contact/knowledge of the attack and did nothing about it. If any of the parents attempts to fly any of these hooligans out of the country, they must be charged as well. This is the country's chance to at the least put an end to school bullying and brings sanity back to the education system.

Weldone brother, it can't be said any better. However, to give a comment on your question "why him"?. As one who also attended a boarding school, he couldn't have been the only victim of gang violence. Many other young ones like him are going through same on a daily basis I strongly believe, but unfortunately he's turned out to be far more severe and it lead to his death due to the unknown substance he was given to drink. If every junior student in that school is interviewed, you will be left astonished or perhaps dumbfounded.

Sylvester is just another victim of a failed educational system in Nigeria. Surprisingly, a private school like dowen college, or whatever it's called, should not be this culpable and insensitive to the declining state of disciplines and morals in the sector. The management is absolutely responsible for this accident, for allowing bullying and oppression to thrive in their environment and must be severely punished. Other perpetrators should be held accountable for their actions and must also face the music. RIP Sylvester!!!! It's unfortunate the so called leaders of this country in various capacities couldn't do enough to protect you and other fallen heroes.

The parents of the boy would have sent him to a different school because the signs were written everywhere from the time the sister's classmates were protecting him. That is not the only school in Nigeria. I just hope other parents have learned a lot of lessons from this kid, and parents should bring up their children in the fear of God not to be murderers. The level of brutality should be reduced or seized from schools too. The school authorities in the boy's school should be interrogated as well. This is a big loss to the family.

They bully the timid, gentle and quite and angelic ones. My sister was constantly bullied because of me. I was the strong headed, no nonsense and hard one, because I was a threat and a hard nut to crack our seniors couldn't speak to me directly so they would always pour their anger on my sister. They separated us in our doms so they could comfortably bully my sis without my knowledge. Thank God it didn't end badly.
