The vibration comes more from number of idlers than the track style, although the track style can definitely help. The case track loaders like yours only have 4 idlers, not counting the front and rear. Many of the competitors medium and large size loaders have at least 5, more idlers = less vibration. Our Whacker Neuson ST45 has 5 idlers and rides smooth as butter with c-lug and multi bar pattern tracks. I have run many different track loaders over the years and any 4 idler rig rides like junk. It really wears the whole machine and the operator more than it should.

The z lug pattern is the only way to go. We went through the same issue with our skid steers we bought the wrong tracks and it was terrible. Our skidsteers have cab suspension and they still were rough. We use ours for land clearing rock picking and driveway maintenance. Great video keep up the good work!

@@Shadowfax2121 our bobcat t 770 and t 870 are very smooth . It honestly depends on the track manufacturer. We run genuine bobcat z lug tracks . Now both machines have cab suspension and cushioned rollers . When on frozen ground and concrete they can be a little bumpy but not nearly as bad as welkers .

@@jasonswift7098 We use ours daily with tracks its not that bad . You can't necessarily say don't do this or that your not here in our conditions . We need tracks as tires won't work at all in mud snow and freshly tilled soil. We are on soft ground picking rocks ahead of the planter with a machine on tires we'd leave ruts . Tracks are better than tires we don't run any tires. We have tracks on all our tractors and both combines.

I watched saw guys in a shop changing tracks like that. They pulled onto plywood and when it was off the sprockets, they pulled the plywood out sideways with the track sitting on it. Had a couple ropes attached through holes in the plywood so easy to drag it. Looked like 3/8" plywood is all. I suspect they had done it before.

The interview you did with the popcorn grower was interesting. I so enjoyed the popcorn video, Bob. It was great!!!! I could not believe the shaking in your skid loader. Wow. The only one I ever used had wheels so am not knowledgeable on the track system. Seems like could be something else not right, but other watcher say is common problem. I can see why you want it to be better. Never realized the track machines had this problem. Do sincerely appreciate all of you taking the tracks off and new ones on. Hard work. Do hope you feel it is better. About it for now. Thanks for showing us the track process. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. I mentioned this on your FB page a while back, but you get so many comments I didn't expect you to see it. Go look at ASV skid loader tracks. They run super smooth and you can see the lugs are super close together. Also, they make turf tracks that are basically slicks. I feel like that would be something you would be most happy with. Not like you get enough rain to be running in mud.

Nick, I replaced the tracks on my Takeuchi because they were worn out, and the ride improved. However the ride didn't really improve until I replaced the front and rear idlers and the bogeys. It's really easy to overlook the undercarriage parts as they are iron and we tend to think they are more resilient than the tracks.

I've got 11 Case Skids for our Landscape company, from old Cummins 85XT's and 450's to newer TR310's. About 4 Tracked and the rest wheeled, and no matter what track we run, they ride really rough on asphalt and concrete, the wheeled will always be smoother. But I personally still prefer a tracked skid, the stability and traction on all types of terrain takes the cake. I'm not a big fan of how much the wheeled skids can buck around when turning, especially if you have a load up in the air.

Your sprockets are wore out bad. If you feel it jerking when you turn it is the slack in the sprocket to drive link. look in the little holes in the track and watch the slack when you go from forward to reverse. They will also ride better since the sprocket is not trying to pull the track back around, Look at a new sprocket and see what I mean. Just lots of track running here and trying to help.

I rented a track machine to do a bunch of stone moving and leveling. I liked the tracks because it loaded the bucket and was able to push a lot more without making 4 holes everything it spun. However I got a stone in the track that I had to stop and get out or listen to the screeching noises. The back grading with the float option engaged was much smoother than back grading with tires.

Nick you put those tracks on backwards! Lol..nah just kidding. Once you put new rollers on you'll be amazed how much more improved the ride will be. If those rollers have any movement in the bearing you're essentially just riding on just the front and rear rollers which intensifies the "shaking" as the steel crossbar inserts contact only front and rear wheel surfaces. I put the Z lug tracks and all 8 new rollers on my Bobcat and was super impressed with ride improvement.

This is a very interesting issue. I have never dealt with a skid steer but after years of riding snowmobiles that vibration is wild. Not even a 1968 Bolens Diablo Rouge with its aluminum cleats in the middle of summer rides that bad. Maybe that's just how a skid steer has to ride due to the weight it has to handle but it sure seems like bound up suspension or a terrible design.
