No, You don't. It's like saying that You don't pull on event banner unless You want any of the Standard characters. I won Mistsplitter and Aqua Simulacra, because I tried. My Yelan is now so powerful. If I lost to Staff of Homa, welp, I would at least have a 5 star weapon for some polearm user. If You don't risk, You don't gain anything. I risked many times, I won many great characters, sometimes I lost. But that's how it is. I never regret my decisions. Especially that 7 pity Aqua. Or 2 pity Childe (which I didn't want to get that time yet, but now I use him in Abyss). No risk no gain. Risking is fun, even if You don't always win. Like when I put 80 wishes to get single Candace and got none of her. But I got 5 Shinobu and I think 2 Sayu.

@@Netsuki I get your point. But most of us don't have enough fates to risk something. I think your standard character argument is a bad one, because that's always the case. There is no banner where you can't lose the 50/50 and it can always happen. If you pull on the weapon banner on the other hand and actually just want one of the weapons you have a 37.5% chance (or 50% chance, if you lost the 75/25 with the last 5*) of getting the weapon you want. If you don't get it you don't even have a guarantee to get it on your next 5*, because for Epitomized Path to trigger, you need to get unlucky 2 times in the same weapon banner. But if you want both weapons you actually have a 75% chance to get something you actually want. And weapon banners where both weapons are good are not that rare. For example: The three Homa-Banners had WGS, Elegy and Aqua in it. All amazing weapon banners. The first Stonethresher-banner had Skyward Harp (this is debatable, because some people might not want it, because it is a standard banner weapon, but I rolled on it, because I wanted it too at the time) When I got Nilou her weapon banner was also amazing. Either I get her signature weapon or Jadecutter. And there were more banners like this, I just can't think of other ones without looking them up right now. So even if you just wish on weapon banners, when there are two good weapons in it, there are lots of opportunities.

​@@LPphil99 ​ No, You literally *don't* get my point. You literally ignored the most important fact, that I won Aqua Simulacra with 10 pulls at 7 pity. You think I had enough fates? No, I didn't. And neither I had when I won Mistsplitter Reforged at 67. I risked, I won. Also if I got Staff of Homa, that I didn't want, I would just use it on one of my polearm characters that doesn't have anything better. That's easy as that. And there is one more thing that You completely miss. If You have a character that You use and want to have their weapon but You chicken out, because "You may not win it", then You are doing that wrong. Even if I didn't have *any use* for Staff of Homa, risking was great choice. I may have low chance. But the chance still existed and if I would win (and I did) it would change my character entirely. That's *worth* risking. Because I use Yelan often that even risk of losing to other weapon was worth trying to get Aqua Simulacra. Getting Aqua Simulacra for Yelan was worth getting Staff of Homa if I lost. And... there is one more factor, Your are ignoring. It's just a game. Treating losing the weapon to another like You'd lose $100.000 is dumb. Yes, You won't always win. But that's the point of the game. I wouldn't have either Aqua Simulacra or Mistsplitter Referged, if I were thinking like You. I wouldn't have Cyno or Yelan to begin with. I wouldn't have Childe. But I do have them, because I weren't afraid to risk.

I would also roll on the current weapon banner, if I only had 20 wishes, because it is actually a good weapon banner. I am just saying that I avoid banners with for example Skyward Sword or Kokomi's Donut as a featured weapon, because if I get one of those I would feel like I wasted my saved wishes for nothing. I also don't understand why you bring up the character banners again. They got nothing to do with this and are conpletely different. At the end of the day it is down to preference. I like to play it a bit more safe, but maybe missing out on a weapon, because the other featured 5* is too bad to risk pulling. You on the other hand risk it all and sometimes get rewarded and sometimes not. Good luck with your pulls! I also got Aqua for my Yelan. She's amazing 😁

I would say true. When I pulled on the weapon banner (3.0 and 3.2), I got Hunter's Path and Nahida's weapon. I would've been okay with thundering pulse, but not okay with Vortex Vanquisher (that was a huge risk, i would say). But...I dont regret wishing in 3.1 or even on this current banner because I would love to have both weapons. So yes, pull on the weapon banner if you like to have both weapons.

@Harlen Green By back to back, I meant getting the same type of 5 star again (not exactly getting them together). ex - First getting a 5 star weapon on standard banner then after some pulls getting another 5 star weapon. This is just a possibility (you can also get a 5 star character instead). And yes, you can get multiple 5 stars in the same banner. Like in this banner I got 2 Raiden Shoguns in the same 10 pull. But this is an extremely rare case. Also you can't get 5 star weapons in limited banner, it's only possible in Weapon and Standard banner.

Gacha addiction is real, but smart planning and spending is also real and works on many aspects of life, not only on video games. If you pull solely based on impulse, that's pretty much a skill issue, regardless of what game you are playing.

I got 2 harans before the staff of scarlet sands. I was sad but now Benny and Xingqiu are playing with them with Xiangling on Scarlett under Mommy Raiden supervision. It's really effective. Furina and Jean use them also sometimes

i’m not a full whale so i’m honestly happy with getting most 5 star weapons even then i’m actually pretty lucky on the weapon banners! managed to get both ittos and wanderers weapons and then i was able to get xiaos and alhaithams

If I’m being straight up honestly IF you have the extra funds and want certain weapon just do it because from my experience with like 26 5 star weapons even if you don’t get what you want the first time the pity system is really good for only being 65 for soft pity and the only “unlucky” thing I got was an R4 elegy while trying to get other weapons so someday down the road if I wanted to have a stacked venti I could so remember genshin is a progressive game and the longer you play the better you will be NOW on the other hand if you barely have enough to pull for characters you want don’t even stress 5 star weapons because I mostly get them for looks so don’t feel obligated to have them just because someone else does either way as long as your having fun wether your a whale or f2p just find some sort of enjoyment out of Genshin 😁

I only wish on the weapon banner if absolutely necessary. First the disappointment of always getting the opposite weapon you wanted, and second some 5 star weapons are specifically tailored for a specific character so I have several 5 star weapons without owners. It’s so frustrating.
