Hi, Hooj! I have been wondering, what if you'll play against team who make you info starved and you don't have agents to fight for space or gather info efficiently. Does this mean you lose defense with no chance or there is a way I miss to counter this without proper pick?

If you face a team that plays perfect valorant and you have a suboptimal comp you will lose. Fortunately absolutely no one plays perfect valorant in soloQ, even in high Radiant. Figure out what they're doing wrong and try to play against that. There's no one thing I can suggest without seeing a VOD, every team will make different mistakes.

@ Woohoojin. Insightful response because you can't flow chart valorant. What can you do if you're team wont stop deathball running at round start? Play with them and bait the trades; try to lurk; try to force enemy attention elsewhere with util/sound so enemy can't rotate for free; try to coordinate a util play on the deathball?

This happens a lot. People don't realize that smokes don't always have to be closest to the enemy in every situation. If anything, it's predictable and opponents just walk past your CT or heaven smoke because they know you're not holding it. With entryway smokes, opponents have to carefully cross or lose space.

This is exactly the answer I've been looking for. I always struggle with passive defensive team that love the wait game. My usual answer for those team is usually late lurk and trying to get a pick which is obviously a problem since oftentimes I'll be the last one standing while my mates just got done it out of nowhere in like 1 second flat. Still being a Brim main I still have my doubts on wasting a smoke as decoy...

Ive only countered passive defense in the way you just taught it a handful of times and didn't understand what I was doing right, so Im glad someone finally put it into words for me. I remember a game I was playing with 4 of my friends and we were down by decent amount of rounds. I told everyone else to just play default, get info, and we'll hit a site depending on how the enemy reacts. The enemy team played incredibly passive because they had no recon, and theyre only method of getting info was standing out on long and holding it. All it took was a few uses of misdirection, my team making their way to site without giving themselves away, and we had every round in the bag. The more momentum we gained, the easier the gunfights became, and before long, we had the entire match. Very helpful tip that I'll pass along to my friends!

one of my favourite smokes on this map if ik they dont have sentinel util on b is an omen smoke on the entrance that allows u to smoke on either side, forcing them to either hold in the smoke or hold both sides of it

if you put the a main smoke on the stairs you got a small space to still see as attacker but it stops behind the box for defense; so it looks like its a normal smoke but you dont have to push the smoke yourself

How to win attack against the ennemi defenders that don't pick/don't push + have no agents that can gather infos or take space effectively or no flashes etc etc (when i had reyna on breeze and got carried by chamber viper sage) ---> ask controller to put space taking smokes : they either push it to see whats up, or they still do nothing and we can contact explode a site and fight 5 vs 2 or 3. With omen etc, put smokes on the entry choke point or something similar, with viper put orbs and wall to cross (those on lotus) and on breeze i guess put the a wall during preround and then the orb mid (tout ça dans l'intro, + de 19:31 à 25:30 especially in defense, if you win with normal valorant plays, don't change a thing their is no need to do weird or crazy new move or agression whatsoever 9:49 to 11:35 In attack, the defenders were stacking the site they were hitting. But kept pushing because omen blinded 2. Have to follow the call and the flash, it's very advantageous (easy 2 kills). But most importantly, if you rotate they will know and reset and you will have less spells to hit the new site

I was hard stuck gold for like 4 straight acts before I started watching the banana. After a 6-month break from ranked it took me a month to hit plat and I've won 10 of my last 11 games. Where/how to plant, gunfight hygiene, the concept of refragging, when to look at minimap etc. are probably second nature to diamond+ but I understood none of these correctly. My execution of these concepts is still lacking but at least I'm improving on them. Honestly, anyone who's "hard-stuck" can learn from this channel. Working on my pre-rounding/comms so I can submit a VOD for review.

Question: at 2:08 why does the game say Omen assisted the kill on Jett? My guess is that the game understands that util is placed and used to assist players on your team through comms. If this is true how does that work for situations where a smoke is thrown but not necessarily to 'assist' a kill of the enemy and instead used to deny info or reduce the priority to peak angles?

If someone dies shortly after walking out of a smoke omen gets the assist. Or if they’re inside it too probably. I think this works for most smoke agents. there’s probably just a timer that runs and if they die within X seconds afterward it counts.

Because in High elo, people tend to shoot for heads and crouching throws off their crosshair. Although, crouching is only applicable during mid distance fights. Usually, high ranks do burst shots, strafe, then crouch.

When using the info denial smoke on A long and C as demonstrated in the video, what do you do if you get a pick from them pushing? Since you don’t have any smokes do you wait till your smokes are back up and then push, or do you just explode on site? Also what if you don’t get the pick, do you ideally still push site or wait for smokes? (I know you can’t predict everything that will happen, but in a general sense what are you hoping to accomplish)

And I am not going to pick one character to be aggressive on and another to be passive. I pick characters based on the util they bring, what maps they work really well on, whether we have a flash agent or not. I can not just lock in an agent, and be like welp I guess we probably lose, when I see 3 other duelists with sage. Not unless I am on my alt account, playing alone. (I play with an insta lock jett player.)
