An exercise to improve trills? Sorry if you’ve already done that but it’s Hard to find stuff that’s not just trilling within the 1234 chromatic exercise and you always spice stuff up in a cool way.

@@axeslinger44 I'm no Uncle Ben, but trills aren't complicated at all. I would suggest just picking a solo/riff that has them in it and try to nail that. For example: The riff in Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun that starts at 0:47 seconds. Or any Tony Iommi solo :P
@axeslinger442 жыл бұрын
@@Thijscube I hear you there. Where I struggle is when I try to move them around with different finger combinations and space between the anchor and target notes. I have ways that I work on them, I Just figure Ben probably has a more fun and musical way to do it.

I'm generally a 3 note per string guy too but I first learned of 4 note per string scales from Steve Vai. I forced myself to play all 4 notes on each string starting with the major scale. The ring/pinky coordination was kinda wonky, esp on whole note jumps, and even if you start low, like in G major, by the time you get to like D mixolydian you start running out of neck. I never found a practical application for it but it's a great way to cover 4 octaves really fast lol. Every now and then I bust out the first few modes just to see if I can still do it. It's like watching a spider run up the fretboard (stay away from mushrooms for this exercise). 😳
