I rode across the country twice on my Yamaha V-Star 250. I’m 6’2”, and I still ended up putting almost 18,000 miles on it in the during the year I had it. Everyone told me I needed a bigger motorcycle, so I bought a Honda Shadow 600. I’ve had the Honda for two years now. I’ve been to Mexico and Alaska, and every one is still telling me that I need a bigger motorcycle. 😂 I still kinda miss the little 250.

I owned a Victory Crosscountry and loved it. Then Polaris came out and stopped making the Victory. I heard the news, freaked out and sold the bike. I wish I had it now. It fit me so well and on the top end speed was so nice. Oh well! I also owned a 1800 Goldwing. I would love to try the DCT, but probably would want the 6 speed. Another bike that was on my radar was the Triumph Bonneville. You have good taste in bikes!

I bought a used motorcycle, 2002 with 78 000 km, that uses the metric system. In my free time, I enjoy fixing motorcycle engines using my dad's garage and tools. Despite my background as a software analyst, I have 8 years of experience in heavy mechanics and aircraft training, which allows me to work on engines. While working on my current motorcycle, I encountered an issue with the shifter and the piston, which remained cold. I plan on fixing this issue by cleaning the carburetor and clutch this summer. Although I have never taken apart an entire engine, I work by step and I believe that I will learn much more for my next project, which will probably be a new Goldwing.

I'm a fan of anything other than stock, my M109r with Vance and Hines slip-ons is the perfect loudness at 3500RPM and up to be noticed but I ride pretty defensively anyway. Victory profits funded Indian success. and when indian finally took off, they were their own competition. They are different teams and were made in different places. But go google conquest customs for a shop down by you. The new Indian Challenger/Pursuit used in the king of the baggers was a victory engine that had extensive testing and tuning up here in colorado at altitude. When victory first came out there wasnt any aftermarket support. but there are several companies producing cam sets/big bore kits/and tuners. The vic shop in Iowa is a guru on the things as is CC in Florida.
@bonnevillebagger914711 ай бұрын
Technically victory never turned a profit.
@Comm0ut11 ай бұрын
Victory was "voted off the island" by buyers and the recession finished them off. Their success was initially during the great Harley famine which also begat many clone choppers using aftermarket engines. Victory wasn't profitable towards the end so it got the axe. The styling was a choice between "fad boomerchopper" and weird (touring). Polaris wisely didn't make those styling mistakes again and bought the Indian name after a succession of incompetents went nowhere with it.

Shadetree, I am impressed. That’s hard to say, especially when you show up at Blockhead’s, 😂 No really, not many people understand what a phenomenal statement you made. “Every new Honda Goldwing is the best Honda Goldwing.” IMAGINE THAT! I lived in Japan for 7 years…there is no such thing as a “minimum tolerance specification” for an engine part. Why, if it doesn’t meet the spec, they trash it for one that does. Think about that a bit. Shadetree, I live in Blockhead’s neighborhood but never see you…I guess I have to come to you one day. That will surely be a great day. I own the Fat Boy Chis did the Stage I and the modified Stage II video’s on. Talk about wrench’s, I am putting a SE 64mm Intake/throttle body, 5.5 injectors, TRASK Chrome Shorties, and plugs on that bike. I found burnt gas in my manifold and located a crack near one of the forward lifters. Boy have I come a long way. I knew I had a problem when Chris did the Stage II, I had him install SE plugs and fatty wires. The ones he took out from a 1 year old bike I had for two months from Seminole, had burnt oil and carbon deposits on those plugs. Seminole, did not want anything to do with me and what we all knew was a problem with the heads. We live and learn. I’m going to Milwaukee and Sturgis with Shantell Williams and Cob this summer, hope we trip over each other. 2FD brother. Even our government follows this business Model with continued overspending and taking out more debt from investors, 34 trillion dollars in debt. Credit card customers 1 trillion in debt. Yes these are fun cause you don't see this type of a review on motos.. the knowledge spoken about each one, the personal opinions you set aside to throw a leg over it and see if the expectation is reality, is just awesome. should you do new bike reviews I mean you can, but I say nah.. ride the affordable, keep showing people what is out there. keep up the fun vids cheers.

I had a Victory Cross Country Tour that I rode for one season. I rode from Canada down the eastern seaboard to North Carolina and back…I was so excited to pick it up, brand new off the showroom floor. I was more excited to sell it and get back onto an HD Ultra Limited. Victory is great on paper, but not so much in 3 dimensions. Cheers.

If you want the vision minus the plastics, I have a 2011 Victory XC that was set up as an XC Tour before the tour was an option for sale
