@findinghumorthruitall4 ай бұрын
are they similar to green sunfish? today I threw my line down the stream and brought it back my way and a bunch of them attacked, they are tiny though. the big ones are maybe a pound and they are the older ones, they are not fooled or go for it. it's the smaller juvenile ones. I used a gold spinner with purple and black feathers/treble hook

How do you keep the worms alive for the next time you go fishing
@CatfishCameronАй бұрын
You have to keep them cold, I usually bring a reusable ice pack with my worms in a grocery sack👍🏻

I notice you buy your worms. It is very easy to raise your own. All you need is a 5 gal bucket and some cardboard. You can order worms online. I started with 250 worms and within 3 months I had thousands. All you do is cut the cardboard into small squares (1/2"×1/2"). Cut enough cardboard pieces to fill your bucket about 6" deep. Saturate the cardboard with water and drain off the excess water. Add worms to the bucket and feed them a banana peel and some oatmeal once a week. The worms will eat the cardboard. The banana peel and oatmeal will make them fat. Put a piece of plastic on top of the cardboard to keep it from drying out. I keep my bucket in the kitchen under the sink.🪱🪱🪱🪱

Worms from the garden or the yard are much "livelier" than farm raised refrigerated half starved worms. We gather them in the spring when there easy to find and place them in a bin with cardboard and compost. Feed them once a week with coffee grounds and vegetable scraps and a bit of oatmeal. Never run out throughout the summer and fall and dump the entire bin I. The compost prior to the first frost. There's always more worms at the end of the season than when we start.
