The first year in Australia, I was embarrassed with "How are you". I regarded it as a serious question and tried my best to describe my real feeling. Until end of my second year in AU, I got habit with this finally and treated it as "hello". Some language habit would make others uncomfortable but it doesn't mean the person wants to be impolite. Now m trying to learn their culture more to help myself show my polite out.😄

Chinese in general tend to be much more intrigued toward those personal questions. Oftentimes they just want to pry and make comparisons for the sole purpose of stroking their own egos. Fantastic video , thank you so much teacher Mike! This is what real “ Chinese English “ sounds like to foreigners . When we are talking about “ Chinese English “ ,most of people just think that it has a lot to do with our Chinese accent, but my personal point of view is that It’s got something to do with not only the Chinese accent, but also the Chinese culture, we really have to blend some “ English culture or background “ in the English we use, even if we could speak English as fluent as Teacher Mike, if we start asking foreigners some personal questions and talking to foreigners in “Chinese ways “ we are so used to in China , they may just get offended and think : this guy is so “ Chinese “.

what did you do over the holidays?” “I went to The Grand Canyon though. But I went with my girlfriend though.” “…why’s your every sentence gotta end with ‘though’, though?” “-what is the name of your cat? -her name is actually Lily” This Old House里的Tom Silva师傅就是出了名的这么说话。

English is my second language, and I still remember I made the same mistake. One of my bosses commented that I shouldn’t say ‘ I know when I agreed with what she said, and I should say ‘ I understand.’ Although she was correct, I still think she was rude to say that to me.

结果我老公不高兴了,you want you want... I d like something, please, can I have something?

Tell me about bla bla bla", 他们从来都不用“ Could you tell me or I'd like to know bla bla bla".

I would like to give out my opinion, I think this content is useful for someone you don't know of and try not to ruin the first impression, but if someone does that to me all the time, I would think he/she's faking it, that he/she's not being honest with me.
