Having watched many sped up painting demonstrations, I was especially interesting to watch you start over, having seen where you're going to take it.

I really liked the first portrait, the little variations in value and hue within areas and just the hint of facial features like the upper eye lid on the left barely suggested, love it!

I did an A4 w/c mother and child Elephants yesterday.I have had the image laying around for a couple of years. Yesterday I just went for it, and it flowed all done in an hour and a bit, and it is one of the best things I have done. Loving your work.

Chelsea, I watched you create this portrait in 13 minutes but how much time did you invest. Your creativity is remarkable.

I go ABSTRACT every time! This painting you do here, I'm gonna steal!🥶 I love it THAT MUCH!😈🤪! I know its wrong and not a great excuse but, I'm COMPELLED!😇 I'll use different colors, I promise!😂 Blood red background and and yes, maybe yellowish/ochre or something monochrome for face! Abstract for sure! Wish me luck!🖕🏻✌🏻👋🏻😂🤪😇✌🏻👽😎😶🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮👀💪🏻🔥🙏🏻👽👽👽👽👽👽👀💪🏻😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱✌🏻😂

Hmm, I clicked on this video because I felt like the thumbnail looked dead, and I thought you might be going to talk about avoiding monochromaticity because it makes work feel dead. I'm surprised to find the opposite, that you feel that this piece is a good example of feeling 'alive'. For me it's the opposite due to a lack of a warm/cool dance. However, listening to your narration I understand that what you are also meaning by alive is your internal inspiration/motivation/joy in painting.

13:16 not complete. I love it, a realistic suggestion, the fully detailed image is like a movie trailer that shows too much.

I like the point you made. Having fun and playing around is how we learn when we’re young. Kids naturally know how to flow from one game to another, because they naturally know how to have a goal, but they don’t hold their self-esteem hostage to achieving it. If it isn’t working out, they just do something else. The flow is more important than the goal. As adults we forget how to do this.

Love your video but can you please show your final work a little earlier than then end, that or show it longer. The problem is, right when you show your final work, the annoying "next video" popup comes up and blocks the view of your displaying of your finished work. I think if you just show it a bit earlier and or longer this wont be a problem. Thank you for sharing.

@@neelumahendra4695Hermione was Muggle “born”. She was not however, a Muggle, and I would never stoop to call her the name she was referred to by the less dignified Wizards … she just might turn me into a ferret. 😉

To make my painting alive, lead paint is required. There is something else about the reason for why some paintings feel so lifeless. ITs because some of them are meant to be lifeless. I am known to make art which makes the viewer feel immersed in what is being painted. If this involves beings like demons or themes like Death, the viewer feels like he or she has witnessed the scene of a crime. Often painted with lead paint to increase a 3 - D effect, unsettling art usually results in the viewer feeling like a predator´s prey in Nature. To make art that is alive but not unsettling requires careful preparation and planning which can take years in some cases. In several such artworks I made the preparation process was deliberately made to last for years to make the painting become more and more alive. In each case I make an artwork the flow state is thus accessed which makes sure that the best paintings, unsettling or not unsettling are always alive.

I find that you're painting isn't 'alive' when you're painting blinks at you or has a certain oofum to it. Then again I'm probably staring at the artworks too long. 😂
